Knoxville Restaurants

Thats great news...are you familiar with there history...about 11 or 12 years ago they won some prestigious national quality/best business practice awards and had an opportunity to go 'big time' in terms of market size/volume, etc but decided to remain a small regional chain....but a very successful one...

From what I have saw and read the Pal's are also very clean. That is another big plus for them. There are some nasty restaurants out there.

New Pals coming to Jeff City. Should be open end of summer/beginning of fall.

I rode through Jeff a few days ago. It is a growing little town. I was impressed.
Twenty years ago there was little in Jefferson City. I remember they had a Kay's Ice Cream we use to stop at

I made my first trip to Litton's for lunch today. Very good atmosphere for a burger joint. I had the burger and fries.
It was good but was not the best burger I have had. I liked the bun and they load you down with fries which were very good.
I actually had a better burger last week at a Sagebrush.

You need to try the "Thunder Road" burger there.

I saw that on the menu. IIRC that is the burger with pimento cheese.
I thought I would try their "famous original burger" my first trip there

Littons is more than a burger joint. Their steaks and seafood is outstanding. The scrod is awesome. Desserts are something special too.

I had to pause as I was walking by the cake and cookie cases. They have some good looking large slices of cake and tempting cookies but I passed on the dessert.

One of the guys in our party ordered chicken strips. He said they were great.

Although Litton's is one of my most favorite places to eat I have to agree with you about the burger....long before it was fashionable their burgers were healthier, leaner than most....when I want a burger I want it loaded with fat...Litton's aren't...but everything is fresh including the baked in house buns...

Does anyone have a list of restaurants that have a private area or could accomodate a private area?

It'd be a party of 20.

I don't know if there's a list but while we're talking about Litton's they have a back room and while its not a secret its not advertised, has a private entrance, and if you're a long time and 'favored' customer a private phone number to call to make sure you don't have to wait for a table in the 'general public' area of the restaurant....no secret handshake or 'grand poo pa' hat to wear but it has an 'old neighborhood bar atmosphere' along the lines of Cheers where you feel welcome but also with great food...

Where is a Sagebrush? The one in Oak Ridge closed down a couple years ago.

Not new but I'm really liking the pizza and other dishes from Bellaroma lately over my typical Domino's take out. I've had some pasta dishes from them as well that were pretty good as well.

What are some good Mexican restaurants? Soccer Taco on Kingston is the only decent one I've been to. Senor Taco is ok, not especially good though. The Soccer Taco on Market Square is absolute garbage. Don't ever go there to eat.

La Parrilla in Turkey Creek. Seal of approval: always full of Mexicans.

Cheddars has been discussed before but went there Saturday. I had the Philly Cheesesteak, enjoyed it. For the price of food it is tough to beat. 2 adults and 2 children and we dined for around $36.
