Knoxville Restaurants

Just ate at Golden Garden on Western Ave. I've never been disappointed with anything on their variety filled menu. We had the hot and sour soup for the first time. Highly recommend it. Definitely our favorite Chinese restaurants in town.

I went there all the time in college. My wife kept her horse right up the road. Definatley a top notch chinese restaurant.

Tried Taste of Thai for the first time tonight. For all the hype I've heard it get over the years I guess I was disappointed. We didn't get one of the dishes we ordered, instead we got some other kind of curry chicken dish, we suspect it was part of someone elses order and they got ours. There were two good dishes among the 5 that were ordered, the Drunken Noodles and level 0(not spicy) Curry Chicken with avocado. The combo fried rice dish I would not recommend. Lemongrass off Cedar Bluff is far better imo.

My wife and I just moved into a house right beside it on John May Dr. We have been wanting to check it out. Good to hear its high quality. We've tried out La Fiesta next door to it and its really good. No La Parilla, but still really good.

good 'ol Cumberland Estates Shopping Center

their use to be an Arcade that we wore out in high school

I think overall lemongrass is better, but Taste of Thai's Masaman curry (5 stah) is awesome!

At least the service has improved at the new location. I went 2 years without ToT at the old location because the service was so pitiful.

I need to try Lemongrass. Just down the road from me.

Live right behind the shopping center.

Didn't know Golden Garden was still open for like the first 6 months I lived here. For some reason I always want Chinese on Mondays...and they're closed on Mondays. Great Chinese though, much better than the typical places they throw in the newer shopping centers.

I love La Fiesta. Its probably not the best Mexican, but the fact its a quarter mile from the house makes it so awesome. Great place to pile up in on a rainy Saturday, drink cheap beer, eat cheese dip and watch football.

That's the one thing I'd probably make an exception to. If I were looking for good curry and ONLY curry, then I might go to ToT, otherwise lemongrass. Speaking of service, there is a sign on the door of ToT with something along the lines of, "check your own to go order before leaving, we're not responsible....". That's classy.

Deans in Oak Ridge hasn't disappointed me yet.

I don't even like greens and I ate the hell out of theirs.

Small world - I live a few streets over from you and c-town Vol. Sometime we should take over La Fiesta for a Vols game!

Went to Lemongrass Thursday. Entree was very good, but the cheese roll appetizer was rather small. I didn't try the sushi, maybe next time.

I do know they need more patronage. The only other couple in there left about 5 minutes after we sat down. No one else came in before we left.

I didn't know about it until I walked in while I was getting new tires installed.
