Knoxville Restaurants

Went to Lemongrass Thursday. Entree was very good, but the cheese roll appetizer was rather small. I didn't try the sushi, maybe next time.

I do know they need more patronage. The only other couple in there left about 5 minutes after we sat down. No one else came in before we left.

That was what my "atmosphere is awesome" comment was about. Pretty lame when all you hear is silverware clinking on the plates.

The folks from Bread of Heaven do Sundays 11-5 now off MLK. I'm going to check it out tomorrow. Ribs are served. Can't wait.

I'll report back tomorrow or Monday how things are at that spot.

Sampled the late night menu at Shuck. I was not thrilled with them stuffing the bottom of the bucket of shrimp with chips.

Has anyone had Pizza Inn on Clinton Highway? It's always packed out and I know it's buffet style, is it any good?

Only two pizza buffets I've been to are CiCi's Pizza and Gatti's. If you're strapped for cash and just really need a pizza buffet then CiCi's is it... I guess. I'd spend the extra 5 bucks and go to Gatti's though. I think it's better quality and better atmosphere. At the end of the day though, it's still just a pizza buffet.

Honestly can't say we've ever gotten a bad entree from them or sushi.

I don't know though, it's almost like a private meal sometimes.

Nobody replied in time, so we went to Fuji. You cannot beat the price, quantity or waiting time with a stick. However, the food is very average at best. We brought home plenty of leftovers, like we would if we had gone to Kan Pai (RIP) or Wasabis, though. Literally, we were in and out in 30 mins.

Well, my family and I went to Rouxbarb a couple days ago and let's just say it was a bland night. They've changed their menu quite a bit. Instead of one page the menu is now three pages long. Some of the old dishes are still there. A lot of the stuff that was listed on the menu though they didn't have that day. We shared the fried seafood appetizer which was pretty good but the breading on it was kind of bland. We shared another shrimp appetizer which was also decent. I ordered the gumbo which probably could have been really good if it had some spices and some even a touch of salt. I had the rib-eye topped with these nice(pretty sure they were smoked)mushrooms and grilled asparagus. The mushrooms were fantastic, and the asparagus were grilled perfectly but the sauce for the ribeye was bland. My sister got the South in your mouth dish which is a bone in roast served with a barbecue like sauce and her roast ended up being dry. The two who got the salmon with beurre blanc sauce loved it though.
The waiter even mentioned that things are a little off right now with rolling out a new menu.
We had been twice before the menu change and every dish we had was great.

We tried Conners at Turkey Creek yesterday. Service and food was excellent. We were stuffed on the bread and appetizers alone. We will try the entrees next time. I suggest the seared tuna or the salmon on potato cake for appetizer.

The fried mushrooms, voodoo shrimp(spicy), lobster dip, and pan seared Ahi tuna are also good apps.

I tried Hard Knox Pizzeria over the weekend, and that is by far the best tasting pizza in the area. Too bad no one locally makes a good deep dish like in Chicago.
