Knoxville Restaurants

Haven't been to Chez Guevara yet. Last Mexican eatery I went to was Cancun on Chapman and it was solid enough. I also need to check out Senor Taco at some point.

Also, Dead End is decent but I've never been very impressed with their barbecue. The one time I ate at Archer's on Kingston I enjoyed it a lot. Still have a soft spot for Chandler's when it comes to ribs.

Went back to Connors again to try their entrees this time. My prime rib was perfect, and she had the filet with cold water lobster tail that was to die for. I would love to know where they get their meat from. I'll never set foot in Ruths Chris again. Much better food and staff at Connors for a fraction of RC.

I can't find anything there I really like, what do you get there?

Right there with you. It's really expensive for what you get also.

Last trip there I ordered a pizza and small salad, wife got a sandwich of some sort and a salad, two sweet teas, somewhere near $25.

I'm a big fan of Ruth's Chris if going for a special occasion and USDA prime beef. Connors is great, though. Tough to beat in West Knoxville, for sure.

Went to Wild Wings Cafe for lunch today.

They have All You Can Eat Wings with Fries and Tater tots for $9.99. It's no longer a buffet style table with random flavors. You order whatever flavor you want from the menu in boneless or bone-in.

Not a bad deal if you are hungry. Lots of choices and the wings are pretty good.

Do they do that everyday? If so, I'll be making that trip soon.

Nope, not in Knoxville today. Running the mother ship in Clarksville tonight. Hope everything went well for you.

I went to Boyd's Jig & Reel last night (in Knoxville's Old City where Manhattan's used to be). I was in the mood to try a few single malt Scotches; they have over 200, as well as a decent beer selection. I had the Fish & Chips, and my wife had the Beef and Ale Pie. Both were pretty good, and they have live music which was also good. The place is loud, but hey, it's a pub. It was also full of hot girls; if I were single (and a little younger), it would be the place for me.

Fantastic meal (as always) at Rouxbarb tonight. Mussels with Benton's bacon, smoked trout salad, shared entrees -- grouper with andouille and a pan-seared filet with asparagus and roasted potatoes. We sat at the kitchen-front table and thoroughly enjoyed the night. It's our favorite restaurant in K-town.

the space is a little cramped for my liking.
