Knoxville Restaurants

Thanks Bama. I went to their website, I will definitely check them out. Nice menu with very good prices. I also noticed they have the steak-n-sac. I haven't had one of those in years.

Don't call me bama! I go by "cheats" for short.

Nick and J are actually who prepares your food at Nick & J's.

I eat there about once a week. Sami's cafe is really good also.

Got the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings from Nick & J's. Had been hearing about their burger for months and finally got around to trying it. Hefty but very good burger patty, definitely need to have room for that. The bun is thick and fresh but still soft. The bacon was probably the piece de resistance. Instead of the typical long floppy pieces sitting on a beef patty they're thicker, chopped, crunchy pieces of bacon that all stick perfectly to the cheese so none of it falls off and you literally get bacon with every bite. The bacon crunch just slams home every bite.

The onion rings were good, not the best I've ever had but definitely good. Had a nice crunch to them.

Went to Nick and J's for lunch today. The rueben was good. It had plenty of corned beed on it. Thanks for recommending it Bamacheats.

I can give you 2.....Big Ed's in Oak Ridge and Littons in N Knox...ironically Littions has long had the reputation of large serving sizes and pizza lends itself to the lots of food theme...I'm been a big fan of both for 40+ years...

Nick and J's is good food, we eat there every friday. Their burgers are great. Two other personal favorites are Sam and Andy's and Little Joes Pizza.

Gotta try the Blackhorse Pub and Brewery in Western Plaza
Great Pizza and Beer, also really good sandwiches and salads

By the way in my quest for the best pizza in Knoxville, I have finally succeeded.

Bella Roma in Karns.

Possibly the best pizza I've ever had.

Seriously? That place was an absolute dump when it was Tony's. It was one of those places that all had similar menus like Oliver's on the strip (like some sort of franchise) and the food was so bland and frozen.

New ownership?

If anyone has been to it, does this Chez Guevara place do Cuban food as well, or just Mexican?

Must be new ownership because the pizza is certainly not bland. We ate from the buffet once and weren't impressed, but when you get a fresh one to go its fantastic. Very Italian seeming. Very quality ingredients.

BellaRoma's has been around for a while now. I personally haven't gotten a dish that was bad from there. We like their fried cheese ravioli and my sister typically gets the deep dish pizza which is pretty darn good. Never actually been there we've always ordered delivery.

No, just mexican unless they have a "special menu" I haven't seen.

For what it's worth though the food quality, taste, and portions are equal to Don Gallos.

Found an excellent new dish at Don Gallos too, well new to me. The Arroz Con Pollo is de-freaking-licious!
