Knoxville Restaurants

We're Cooking has good burgers and fish and chips. Everything is cooked to order so it's all fresh and hot and tasty. They're on Peters Rd near where Circuit City used to be.

there's also one in the West Town food court and newly on the Strip next to the liquor store (not where Tin Roof used to be, the other side)

Yes. Bacon Cheeseburger on Steroids for the win.

Holy mackerel there Andy!!

Without exaggeration, this fried scallop po' boy at Tennessee National is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had.

wait where is this?

The Greg Norman golf club off exit 72 in Loudon. They just got sold to a company out of Dallas and they are pouring in the money. It's a fantastic track, and they have a crazy good membership offer going.

Can you just go there to eat, or do you have to be like a member or know a member or something? Cause I'm going down to Atlanta on Saturday and I could totally go for a killer po boy

I believe you need to know a member, but you could probably slide through the gate saying you are meeting somebody for lunch. I think that sandwich is their Thursday special.

As for golf, members can call and get tee times for non-members, but it is a little pricey unaccompanied (I believe $140 on weekends).

Does this golfing experience come with a "happy ending"?

My youngest son and I tried Fulin's, which occupies the building where Wok Hay used to be (Central and Merchant's, near Hooters). The pork dumpling appetizer was very good. Matt had the Pad Thai noodles which got a thumbs up and I had General Tso's chicken, which was great as well.

Decor is pretty much exactly what it was when Wok Hay was there, only with Fulin's logos placed in strategic locations.

Wok Hay was better, but only because of all the free extras you got when you ate there. That and the crispy fried spinach, which was like manna from heaven.

Closest one to me is Northshore Town Center

I loved Wok Hay. I hate that Ruby Tuesday bought WH and then closed it down after a couple of years. They also ruined Ruby Tuesday, so it wasn't a surprise.

Yeah I'm not sure who the original owners were of Wok Hay but Ruby Tuesday's doesn't seem to manage it's brands very well. The Wok Hay at Turkey Creek was also closed as well as their other concept Marlin and Ray's which used to be on Lovell Rd. now currently Hurrican Grill and Wings. I would have preferred Stir Fry Cafe to stay at the Turkey Creek location. They had great food and the Wednesday night sushi was always a great deal.

Ruby Tuesday bought Wok Hay from a couple of guys when they had maybe two stores. Then RT destroyed the concept. At least the original owners were able to cash out.

Still have yet to have a bad meal at Conners. Solid restaurant IMO. I always sit at the bar so I can't speak for the dining room but there service is always outstanding for me as well.

FYI: Docs on Kingston Pike across from the mall was sold to the folks that opened Hurricane on Lovell. So, it'll be closed a few weeks for remodel. Hopefully they turn that place into a good little bar.
