Knoxville Restaurants

Hey guys, any nice breakfast places between campus and cedar bluff Rd?

Oddly enough most of the best breakfast places are just outside both of those driving limits you listed.

Mimi's Cafe, Tupelo Honey, Bistro At The Bijou, French Market Creperie, Pete's Coffee Shop.

Bonefish, I've been told, has a great brunch and also offers bottomless bubbles (champagne drinks)

Interesting, I didn't know they did brunch.

the French Market is damn good

and yeah, I was kinda surprised to find out that a chain did a brunch...but the endless mimosas is intriguing

also past Cedar Bluff, they do brunch and mimosa pitchers and have a bloody mary bar at Wild Wing Cafe

I've never been there or to Buffalo Wild Wing even, for no particular reason.

Wife and I went to Mimi's all the time, when we were dating. Sadly, it got so bad we decided not to go back. The Brioche French Toast was our favorite, but after getting several not fully cooked servings, that's what broke the camel's back. Plus, its a little pricey for the portions.

I tried it once and it was nowhere near as good as their dinner. I think I had a surf and turf brunch, and it was lackluster.

What did it for me was the absolute crap service. Experienced and witnessed at other tables more than once. The GF took me there and the first time was great, even got free muffins to take home from the manager because it was my first visit. Subsequent visits were highlighted by snotty rude service.

We won't go back and I am pretty easy to please in a restaurant.

They also serve beer in the morning.

On Gay Street south of the Regal Riviera. It's tucked away in the shade under a taller building, so it doesn't stick out as you go by.

Just for completeness and help in the future, there's a 2nd location in Farragut as well. It's near Kingston Pike/Campbell Station.

Big Fattys on kingston pike next to West Knox News and Cosmos Cafe at gourmet mrkt are good as well. Pricey but the Sunday Brunch at Copper Cellar west is awesome

Made it to Sweet P's on Jackson after my son's soccer game today. Mighty good. We shared a sampler and enjoyed all the meats and sides (Mac & cheese, greens, pintos).

Walked by the French Market thousands of times, and I'm sure it's an excellent restaurant, but the fact that the French Market is located on Gay Street has always made me chuckle. And yes, I'm 12.

Are you familiar with any Nashville BBQ joints? If so, how would you compare them?

They are all good. Just go try them. Support the local economy when you show up in town.

Sweet Ps might be a bit more fancy and theme'd than Archer's stores. Archer has more variety of sauces. I love both.

I've been to Jacks near downtown in Nashville. I'd say it's more over the top and offers more variety than either Archers or Sweet Ps. But, the meat....I like ribs over here better than Jacks. Jacks has great variety of sides though.
