Knoxville Restaurants

Was in Knoxville this past week for Thanksgiving and a family member took me to Bellair Grill in Halls. We had a very bad experience. I knew nothing about it, but it is a favorite of my family member.
I had seafood. It was greasy and undercooked. Fries were very greasy. Staff was very nice. I could have just hit it on a bad day, but I will not go back.

The Bel-Air Grill used to be an ok restaurant in Maryville right near the airport. That particular location has long since closed but it made a name for itself back in the 90's if I remember correctly. A combination of being near the airport and an over abundance of only fast food places nearby at the time.

Louis' is good, but its a gut bomb, IMO. I've found Litton's burgers to be overrated, but their dessert fair is well above average.

Yeah, Litton's burger is nothing to write home about anymore. It's a dried out, underseasoned patty but the desserts are in fact legit.

I first went to Littons a couple years back because everyone always mentions it on those Taste of the Town things on ESPN. I was so incredibly unimpressed. Give me a Texas Toast Burger from Huey's all day err day.

I think the Stock and Barrel makes a far superior burger.

Litton's uses too lean ground beef to make a superior burger, imo.

I still need to visit Stock and Barrel, both as a big fan of bourbon and a big fan of burgers. Kinda surprising that I've never been

We ate at Huey's on Germantown Rd last Tuesday. I have eaten there for 24 years as I have lived and traveled through Memphis. Last week I was disappointed. It was ok but I expect more than ok from Huey's. Littons actually blew us away on Saturday. I have eaten there over 100 times (I lived in FC for a while) and this was the best. In past five years I thought they had slipped, but Saturday was a home run for whole family and I did slurge get the strawberry cake. Barry Litton was overseeing the kitchen, that might have made a difference.

My niece and her boyfriend ate at Stock and Barrel on Friday. They said it was great. I need to go next time I am in town.

I tried Stock and Barrel the Sunday after a UT game this year. It was pretty amazing...definitely up the list of the restaurant burgers I've had.

Stock and Barrel has the best burgers in Knoxville. Litton's is crap. Anyone that says that place has good burgers has horrible taste in food and should be placed on ignore.

You should probably realize that at one time they made exceptional burgers. Not everyone is talking about last week

Stock and Barrel is a bit overplayed, IMO. It's not a bad burger, but for the price, I would like to have a bun that isn't mush by the time they bring it out. It tasted good, but I felt like I was eating just the burger itself.

I'm a big Sam and Andy's West and Fuddruckers burger guy myself.

A burger with fries at stock and barrel is like 12 bucks.

Carolina ale house has some good burgers.

I was less than impressed with Ale House's wings and haven't returned. I ate a wing from them at the Wing contest in World's Fair Park this summer and loved it, so they gave me a coupon for like...an app or something. Went in and got the wings because, well, I enjoyed the wing I had.

They were the worst wings I'd ever had at a restaurant, including Hooters.

I don't know what they did differently, but I haven't been back and doubt I ever will.
