Knoxville Restaurants

One of the discounts I'm trying to implement on my Happy Hour that I'm pitching is $2 off all well drinks (makes them $4) and $2 off all Tennessee whiskeys (including 4 Tennessee bourbons). And I can pretty much definitely hook you up lol

Well whiskey for $4?

What are your Tennessee selections?

TN Bourbons: Belle Meade, Belle Meade Sherry, Butchers (Sevierville), Old Forge (Pigeon Forge)
TN Whiskeys: Jack, Gentleman, Jack Single Barrel, Jack Sinatra, Dickel #12, Dickel Barrel Select, Clayton James, Chattanooga 1816 Reserve, Chattanooga 1816 Cask (the 2 Chatts are, I believe, still from the whiskey barreled in Indiana but are bottled in Chatt)
TN Flavors: Jack Fire, Jack Honey

oh, and Dickel's unaged corn white whiskey

our well bourbon is Beam

That stuff is well whiskey. They had a massive fire years ago at their facility that wiped out a ton of product, so they raised the price to help offset the loss and never looked back. People get suckered into thinking its on the same level as Jack or Maker's, and it definitely isn't.

Cool. I'm a Dickel fan so I probably need to stop by...

Had a great meal with friends at Shuck tonight. We liked each topping of the oysters "4 ways," and all the entrees (blackened grouper, tuna, crab cakes) were well-received. I like that you can pick your plating of the fresh catch. I went "southern style" with smoked cheddar grits and collared greens. If I had to pick a critique, the house salad is a little boring.

If you enjoy seafood, I would put it atop the list in Knoxville.

Apparently Riverside Grill in Oak Ridge was sold to the Copper Cellar Family of Restaurants.

Yup, the Chattanooga stuff is all MGP juice at the moment. Once the distillery gets older I believe they plan to use their own juice but that'll be a good couple years off.

Niros Gyros on Cumberland has always been good. Everyone has always been nice as well.

New Ali Babba's across from OCharleys on Kingston Pike next to Hooters is supposed to be good. I haven't eaten there yet, but I've heard good things.

All the places I used to get them are gone but I think the sky box on Gay St has a Mediterranean menu. I haven't eaten there yet. Also, I haven't been in years but Colonels Deli had a decent one

Thanks guys, I will try em.

Just ate at Babalu on Gay St. It's not often that I try a new place and have nothing negative to say, but this place is great. My son and I had duck tacos, steak on a stick, and their version of spicy shrimp, and all were outstanding. The vibe and decor is fun, staff very friendly and efficient.

Highly recommended

I just moved about a block and a half away. Guess that's where I'm grabbing food soon

While I'm not a fan of the bbq or the beer at Calhouns, I had a fantastic prime rib there tonight. One of the best ones I've ever had. Good job

Discovered something great at Don Gallo, beer battered fries! Not an ordinary side item at a mexican restaurant by any means but fantastic none the less. They're the flat, steak style fries(which I'm typically not a fan of) but the crispy batter is what makes these fries. In the world of fries these have easily made the top of my list. Aside from their great mexican fare I also had a millionaire margarita which was deliciously strong.

Noticed that the west side of Maryville is getting a new Waffle House. Nothing against that kind of restaurant but why can't we at least get a steak and seafood restaurant?
