The polls in Ohio suggest that has hurt Trump. That is a tight race now.... it wasn't a month ago. Trump can not afford to lose that state.

You are misrepresenting the CDC's projection in March. They were providing a very broad range as of March 18th, which was also the same day that Trump was recorded by Woodward. The CDC projection at that time was anywhere from 200,000 deaths (best case scenario) to 1.7 million deaths in the United States (worst case scenario). Trump understood what the projected possibilities were... and they weren't wrong. Something closer to the best case scenario has played out.
