Yep. If LSU has or is pushing, it doesn't bode well for us. Another burner WR is a want, but this one is a real need. Not getting my hopes up here.Kid has said it is about relationships. He says about 3 words. Doesnt seem like type to care as much about NIL. I would wager he wants to be closer to home. Time will tell, hope its us.
Lafayette is 4:30 from CS. 10 hrs from Knox.
:54 from Baton Rouge.
Dont think you can ever count out RG, and what this campus is. Again, just fighting an uphill battle here with homestate school. Still unsure how or why we whiffed so much in this cycle, but am looking forward to a better crop & results in '25.Yep. If LSU has or is pushing, it doesn't bode well for us. Young Rodney was an assassin on the recruiting trail. Old Rodney seems to have lost some of his stinger. Granted, he's still a master developer, but I'm not sure he's still killing it in recruiting. Frankly, I don't see a lot of stud recruiters on this staff. Very good but not the kind of guys who will come anywhere close to closing the talent gap with uga and bama. Don't get me wrong, I've got no dreams of us catching those two teams anytime soon. At my point in life and well over half a century of watching UT sports, I'm very content with us being an 8-10 win program....especially with the portal and OU/TX joining an already wickedly tough SEC.Dont think you can ever count out RG, and what this campus is. Still yet landing this guy would go a long way.
I think he's still a good recruiter. Times have changed, and as i dont think he wants to live on the trail still. with free agency he may just be content to recruit players with experience, which is fine. but you gotta land some. I think mckinney is important v enough to camp in front of his houseYoung Rodney was an assassin on the recruiting trail. Old Rodney seems to have lost some of his stinger. I think “usually” a Louisiana kid is going to go to lsu by default. The fact that this kid chose A&M and chose to go out of state gives you hope that there is no instate loyalty there. There’s something to be said for having a college experience that isn’t an hour from home as well.If he doesn't like LSU, then why is he wasting their time by hosting in homes, keeping in touch, and taking a :54 minute drive for an OV?
Flipside to that, if he likes them as much as some seem to think, why didn't he show them any interest, at all, before about a month ago...maybe even commit to them instead of A&M? A&M doesnt have a coaching change, LSU is in the same boat as us...not involved, at all.If he doesn't like LSU, then why is he wasting their time by hosting in homes, keeping in touch, and taking a :54 minute drive for an OV?

He had some very good players at Auburn. And Georgia. He's relied on those relationships for a lot of years. Jamal Lewis comes to mind.RG has landed four 5* DL recruits ever. And one of those is Jordan Ross.
*IF* we get McKinley then 40% of his elite recruits all time will be from Old Rodney at UT.
As others have said, IF we can just get him on our campus weekend of 19th/20th, we should still be in it.LSU Jan 12
