'19 LA RB John Emery Jr (LSU commit)

I don't hold to that theory in totality. I may be a fool, but I have more faith in the leadership of most schools in the SEC. I don't think UGA cheats or UT. Suprisingly enough I don't think Bama cheats. There are a couple of schools, that I believe have cheated in the past, but I won't mention. I am mature enough to know it has happened, but I prefer to believe that there is more good than bad

Therein lies your problem. You see cheating as bad. I see it as trying hard.

Regardless, Richt was the guy that was sending dude after dude to the NFL. Now he’s doing the same thing at Miami. Watching the drop off from Chubb and Michael’s SO to SR seasons showed me who the guru really was.

not bad, not good...just different and I respect that in you. But don't you find it interesting that a kid can't even sell a game jersey without getting caught?

Mostly because they have no idea how to go about it. Putting it on eBay is not the way to try and get away with it. Gotta be discreet.

We do it, trying hard. Anyone else in the SEC, criminal offense. Double standard? Yup, and really don't care.

Cheating is part of college football. I mean does anyone think all of these stud players have strong academics? Come on. How do you think these guys get into college? The rules are bent for athletes. Its just how it is.

“Cheating” can be nothing more than favors for family members or players. Good deals, new jobs, you name it. Call it networking, cause it’s not a whole lot different.

They've had 5 star RB John Emery, Jr.; 4 star ATH Mayika Tongue, and 4 star LB Rian Davis all announce commitments TONIGHT. It's absurd, apparently they had a big recruiting weekend which featured the opening of their newly renovated stadium players' facilities, like 60 million dollars or something.
To be fair, they were already silents, Kirby had them hold off until this weekend. Only two was supposed to pop and Emery got antsy I guess. Still 4 silents on their board.

Well, I think buying a meal and paying $100,000 are two different animals. I know everyone bends the rules. I am talking big payments here.

It is easy to just say everybody is doing it, but who on here has seen it happen more than once? Was this given so he would come to UT, or UGA?

How does this "silent" commit jazz work? This isn't directed at UGA in particular I hear this everywhere, but how do schools know a kid hasn't "silent" committed to every school on the block? Why would the school accept a "silent" commit? (would you have accepted a silent commit from a prospective prom date?) Moreover, how does one know about a silent commit? I am not singling you out, I have no doubt you've heard this, but the subject generally seems like message board garbage more than anything else, again this isn't directed at UGA exclusively either, Lord knows we Vol fans can create incredibly complex fantasies that have no basis in fact. See, e.g. the Gruden Threads vs. the Currie open records dump from the coaching search. It is just a puzzling phenomenon to me, if it is in fact occurring.

Two things:
1) the recruit tell the coach "hey I want to commit" and the coach says "that's great we accept but don't go public until we say so"
2) the recruit tells multiple coaches "hey I want to commit but don't want it to be public so I can continue to visit schools"

To your 2) comment, (rhetorical question) what's the difference from publically committed and taking visits? I don't see any difference ro be honest

Different reasons but I will give you two that is normally the case. One, kids commit but want to have their spotlight and do it at school or another function. A lot of the time kids will silent commit and want to announce on a certain day, mom’s bday, grandmas bday, etc.

Two, pertaining to today. Kirby asked the donors to bare most of the cost for the renovation at Sanford including new locker room and a huge recruiting lounge for kids/families to be in during games. After the last commit tonight, Kirby sent out a text thanking the boosters for building the new facilities with the words Build it and they will come. So, he had the recruits commit at the revealing of the new facilities to show that their money helped directly, 100% choreographed by Kirby.

Last, and whether kids stick with silents, a LOT of kids will silent to ‘save their seat’. I don’t put much faith in silents, and less and less faith in public ‘commitments’.

As far as knowing, let’s be honest here, guys love to talk, recruiting is all of our ‘gossipping’, not hard if you listen enough.

To pull Emery out of Louisiana.....yes someone paid him or a family member. Will Georgia get away with Alabama tactics...that remains to be seen.

And just 2 days ago we were celebrating signing a 3 star DB and a #15 ranking. Good Lord, we are falling light years behind those guys in Athens, Ga.

When we win 7-8 games this year, including a bowl, that gap will close quick. If the fact that Pruitt has Wanya Morris committed, after the worst season in 120 years of football, not to mention being the laughing stock of college football, doesn't show what he and his staff can do on the recruiting trail, then I don't know what will.

We win 7-8 games this year, including a bowl, and we show signs each week of getting better and more competitive, leaving everything on the field, we sign a top 5-7 class nationally, top 3-5 in the SEC. I truly believe this.

8-5 6-7 10-4 12-2 8-5 10-3 9-3 8-5 13-2. 6-3 in bowl games.

7-6 6-7 5-7 4-7 5-7 7-6 9-4 9-4 4-8. 3-2 in bowl games.

There really isnt anything else that needs to be said.

Close quick? Wishful thinking. Smart is gonna challeneg Saban for the #1 class this year. His class this year may end up being better than last years which is absolutely insane. While the Morris commitment is awesome, he hasnt signed his LOi yet. Anything can happen in recruiting. Not saying he wontbstick, but you never know. Is it possible Pappoe finally convinces him to flip? I dont think he will but again, who knows.

Even if we sign a top 5-7 class, we would likely still be a few years behind UGA. Just my opinion.
