Lady Vols Logo

But, if Nike is keeping the LV logo for the basketball team, why could it not be kept for all women's sports? Seems it would cost more to keep it for one sport but not all the others. Or, something like that. I, also, don't think it's about the money at all. I think many Vol fans are fans of only a few sports and not so much as all of them. While some fans like all Vol sports. It's a pick and choose depending on which sports activities interest one. I have an interest in all Vol sports but don't follow all of them like I do the football team and the men's and women's basketball teams.

Weaning process... Eventually everything's the same...it'll be better. :wink2:

We welcome non alumnus to be Vol fans and everyone has a right to an opinion. But it really should be just the alumni or more precisely alumni Lady Vols and current Lady Vols whose opinions matter. For instance I'm sure both Hart and Cheeks are Vol fans. But, in my opinion, they should not be the ones making this decision or used to make this decision. They are not Vols. (I suspect this is coming from the BOT who are Vols (mostly) which really pisses me off.)
As a proud graduate of UTk......who the **** appointed you as the gatekeeper?

This can be interpreted in a number of ways. I think the BOT, and possibly Nike, got caught in a backlash they didn't expect. Now, they have a lot of upset fans and former Lady Vols and don't know how to address it. So, hey, we're just not going to discuss it at all. A discussion regarding the issue would be for the good of all, in a way. It doesn't mean the BOT, NIKE or whoever will change their minds, but it shows a willingness to open it up for discussion. Looks like a case of I'm taking my ball and going home.

Simply put: it won’t even discuss the matter.

They are behind this. Told ya.

Because it has nothing to do with Nike or costs or what Lady Vols want. It is a politically correct movement by the BOT. Nothing else.

So, we should let Crimson Tide or Tiger fans decide who or what we call ourselves? You're not making a lot of sense.

It's called administrators...they're hired to improve their departments. In your world Doug Dickey and General Neyland never have input as ADs...that would be sad...and unrealistic.

You seem to have a very clear view of the BOT and the administration. I'm curious as to how you've gotten so close to the situation.

At first just common sense. It would be the only explanation that made sense. The BOT hires two non Vol administrators and apparently one of their main priorities is to eliminate Lady Vols from existence-too coincidental. Then I confirmed it through an acquaintance who has direct ties to the BOT.

Another thing. Dave Hart is a bungler-very inept. Every situation he has been involved with he bungles. For instance when he was cleaning house when he first arrived at the athletic department he did it very unprofessionally. He seemed like an insecure little man going after those older employees and women. Next, when Dooley was still the football coach, Dooley had asked Hart to extend his assistants because he was concerned they might leave. Hart wouldn't hear of it because supposedly it would cost the university too much money and didn't want to make the commitment. So consequently instead of extending Wilcox one more year, Wilcox leaves and Dooley hires Sunsieri (Hart's man from Alabama-remember) who ends up being a disaster but they have to pay him even more money than they would have had to pay Wilcox. Of course Dooley gets blamed for the whole fiasco but there is Hart in the background not saying a word. Then when Hart fires Dooley his first public statement is "we have all the time in the world"- which they don't and then Auburn quickly hires Malzahn. Then Hart starts courting Gundy (he was played) and then Strong (played again) and all the while Butch Jones turns down Colorado and I think another maybe Utah and is campaigning for the Tennessee job behind the scenes and finally I believe somebody directs Hart to look at Butch. Then there is the whole Donnie Tyndall snafu. He doesn't handle the Martin situation very well and Martin leaves abruptly so Hart is trying to court the LT coach who rebuffs him so Hart quickly jumps on Tyndall to make it look like he was after Tyndall all along and there is no vetting and it bites us in the ass. Then Tyndall is fired and Rick Barnes is paid over two million in a very quick process and there is no vetting there. Then this whole Lady Vol affair. Hart's method of handling this is to come out and lie about how the whole process went down-and they release this very unprofessional audit that Nike did that supposedly justifies the whole thing. That probably has more people upset than anything. Then there has been a request for information to be released about emails between Nike and the athletic department and he released the "audit" which is a violation of the law-it was not what was asked for in the request. Hart is a bungler and a boob. Have you ever heard of the book "The Peter Principle?" That is Dave Hart-he has risen to his highest level of incompetence. He would probably make a good low level administrator-nothing more. The higher ups who are giving him his marching orders I know must be thinking "what a boob."

fyi, I will be scarce to find around this forum as of now. Too many popups and ads have made this place not worth the trouble. C'ya

I would suggests that you consider some remedial classes for what seems to be a serious problem with reading comprehension, but since it is obvious from the nature and tone of your replies that you don't have a problem with reading comprehension, I can only surmise that your obtuseness is deliberate. Please feel free to have the last word in this particular exchange. I've wasted enough time with your brand of humor.

Told you to duck, Jim:) your above post is good, although I would question your observation. I am sure a large portion of fans appreciate your input and knowledge. Keep up the good work and, yes, don't waste your time responding to....

It would be interesting to see if one of these journalists or citizens who have made the email request take it to court and try to force the issue. I suspect it would be like Lois Lerner where all the emails would be missing.
