Lady Vols Recruiting Info

Trust me dont let Saxton's height fool you. Her athletic ability allows her to play much bigger then she is listed. Just like UCONN's Gabby Williams, Saxton is extremely athletic and very agile for a 6'2" post. She's like a pogo stick going after rebounds or blocking shots. She went up against Cy-Fair this year in the EYBL and had 7 blocks on 6'7" Sedona Prince and 6'5" Charlie Collier. She also played agaisnt Boo Williams in the EYBL semifinals, Boo Williams had Scott-Grayson, Ashley Owusu, Xaria Wiggins, and Shakira Austin. Saxton dominated the game with 19 points, 11 rebounds, 6 blocks and 4 steals. She limited Austin ESPN #3 overall player to just 9 points and 8 rebounds, which isn't bad being she just came up short of a double double. But Saxton is rated far lower then Austin and looked like the better player. Saxton is the sleeper in this class.

Rokia Doumbia has added Ga Tech and TN with one final OV left...one of these schools will be in her top 5 unless she plans to unofficially visit one.

She will end up at GT with Balogun and Liz Dixion imo

Why do you think that? I know ATL has a heavy African cultural influence.... she did play with Jazmine Massengill at HH and AAU.

I hope we get Burrell and another post player... I want to rack up on the Hayes sisters as well in future classes. I’m excited to see who we end up with!

Me too (on the Burrell and Post Player front as well as all the Hayes sisters)

As far as Doumbia the heavy African influence as well as her playing with Balogun at HH and AAU and her other finalist;

Arkansas-Dykes is gone and I don’t think the same interest is there as it was when he was there

Vandy-They added 3 guards last year and will be bringing in Brinnae & Jordyn Cambridge

Oklahoma-They currently have 6 verbals (which is why I don’t think her and Burrell is in play there

TCU-Offers a lot of time right away and she would no longer be in the shadows of the Hunt sisters, Massengill and Balogun

GA Tech has the African connections and she could potentially get minutes early

I hope we get at least a visit but I wouldn’t be bummed if we didn’t

I think she lands at TCU, GA Tech, or Vandy (if we get a visit we may could sway her though

Neighbors at Arkansas makes the Razorbacks more appealing IMO. If Dykes was still there it would make them less likely to sign Rokia but now they have a coach that was able to take Washington to their first ever final four. Neighbors will make Arkansas a legit force in the SEC within a few years IMO.

I am not doubting that, I just don’t think she’s the type of guard he is interested in,

With Dykes she fit perfectly because she’s more of a defender/rebounder at the guard spot

Neighbors prefer his guards to have the ability to light it up & she can’t do that at this moment at least from what I’ve seen from her

I have seen her play several times. She is more of an aggressive athlete. She would be good at any sport. Not that skilled at offense such as : having a good touch shooting, not a strong three point shooter, able to create her own shot. Etc. BUT the kind of player that you want on your team! She will only get better and better. JMO

In other words, she's MeMe Jackson...?

No offense to these kinds of players, but Tennessee has not had luck with athletes 1st/basketball player 2nd type players. They need some skilled basketball players to get back to the top 10, not a team full of offensively challenged projects.

NO she is not MeMe! For one she is 5’8” and not 5’11”. She played last year as a sophomore. Now she is transferring and graduating in 2018 verses 2019???? Let that sink in.... You have to wonder WHAT! I do not have the details of this move in her life but it sounds like she is graduating high school in three years ?

Is she an AA ..... nope.. but she will become a contributor to any team. We have players that have seen limited playing time .... you have to ask why?
Rokia will play and contribute wherever she goes. JMO

In fact, we specialize in athletes who never get beyond MEH as basketball players. Everybody's got athletes; what separates good teams from mediocre teams is the ability to score. That is why UConn is so good every year--they have various players who can shoot and score.

Jasmine Jones immediately came to mind.

Rumors that Zarielle Green has decommitted from Kansas and will be visiting Tennessee.

Huh? Already? If true, I found it strange for her to verbal there anyway without visiting UT but I know how some of these things manifest and I wondered was it her decision or someone else making the decision for her

Since Zarelle is listed as a guard. And Burelle listed as a wing. Would we take both? Considering we did not get DeCosta. I would think we would take both if they declare?
Is Zarelle going to desert her team mates..... which is why she chose Kansas in first place? Three players from same high school team committed.
