Oh I agree next time she will be pinch run for but not after her first ab...I don't think Ralph has ever lifted someone after their first AB....and McSwain needs a lot of work at catcher the amount of wild pitches, passed balls, and dropped k's is way too high for her to be playing back there

My final comment is that I never said for her to be lifted for a pinch runner and not reentered.

Sweet--big win. First game in a series is always huge. Let's do it again tomorrow. Great job by everybody.

Someone please enlighten me on the Kentucky pitcher having a glove with white on it. Has the rule been changed that says the pitcher cannot have white on hands? Thanks!

Did something happen at the game? I didn't watch just saw the final.

But, white gloves or sleeves on the pitcher has nothing to do with softball. Now baseball, there are rules for that.

It is a rule in slow pitch softball,I just didnn't know about fast pitch. Thanks for getting me up to speed!

No doubt we'll see Prince again--and probably tomorrow as Smith--who is a pantload, did not hugely impress me. Prince is a pretty good pitcher--she gave Geer problems today--but I like the way we are hitting and playing. Kentucky helped us with some bad infield play- four errors that helped give us big innings--but they were probably thinking about our speed. Big game tomorrow.

I just finished watching the replay. Nice win but UK's fielding woes made it difficult to tell how good a win it was. Make no mistake about Prince - she is a very good pitcher, and a lefty. Thus the reason McSwain started in left.

Moss pitched well and didn't need the run support. I'd like to have some of these runs tomorrow. I have a feeling tomorrow's game will be totally different.

I wonder why not and if we recruited Prince. She is from Martin Tn. and being a lefty I would have jumped all over her especially since we got left out in the pitching department when she was a HS senior. Kentucky's coach has come into Tenn and got her and Nunnely from right under our nose it seems.

On McSwain's bases-clearing double - the right fielder was playing well in. Presumably to try and cut off a runner from second at the plate. A mistake, however, and I wonder if Lawson will play it that way again.

And I wouldn't have lifted Lockman for a PR either, not that early and with a 2 run lead. If UK comes back to tie or take the lead the next inning or two and you have to lift Lockman later to try and get a run you can't put her back in. The real question in my mind was why bunt in the first place? Rowland is a power hitter and I cannot think of another time she has bunted. Hit her away.

And who was the female announcer? For goodness sake she was a listless monotone.

Take the walks and errors off the board and this is a 1-0 or 2-0 ball game. They better be ready for Prince tomorrow (assuming she pitches). For TN to have a chance at a better than a .500 record in the SEC they have to win all three of these games.

Because that 3rd run is very important for the very reasons you spoke of. Yall sound like Lockman is the best thing since sliced bread. Without errors all over the field and the game is not a run rule. Lockman is our best catcher and just happened to get a hit not a hitter that happens to catch. She did not come close to getting on base again and if she averages 1 time on base a game that will be a improvement from past performances.SM is a decent backup and I would say as good a hitter as AL but that aint saying much. The next two games will not be so easy I would speculate.

Much like Nunley, she was a late bloomer that developed after the scholarship money for that recruiting class was already allocated.
