i can live with the best hitter in the sec and possibly the country hitting a homer off our 2-3 stream pitcher. i hate intentional walks and wouldn’t do it. pitching around a batter is fine, don’t give them anything hittable. i think bender missed her spot but i’m not 100% sure.

I never mentioned an intentional walk.

By the time we get to next week depending on who we face in round 1 of the regional Ashley will have had 6 to 7 off days to get even healthier.....we're good yall....just breathe....Also I liked how our offense is coming around at the right time.....Now to drive back

our offense looked pretty good tonight. with a healthy rogers i think we might have took this game and gave florida a run for their money. we’re playing great softball with rogers on the mound.

If it had been Rogers, fine. You live with it. When you've got your third string in the circle, you don't pitch to the top HR hitter in your opponents' school history (she broke the record on that HR...yay) that also happens to be the SEC POY. You make someone else beat you, and if they do, you live with it.

Either way it is what it is. Only way I cant really live with it is if Ashley was fine and they didn't go to her. Best on best and she wins tip your cap. Their 1 vs your 3 it is what it is she's supposed to win.

I admire your optimism but regarding the offense ... it was one game. We had two games with horrible offense and one game with good offense. Odds are every game in the NCAAT will be a grind because that's just how this team is. This team is very box of chocolates-ish, lol.

I didn't see first one, but the second one was over the plate, just low. Again, she'll gladly take the walk if you give it to her. No elite HR hitter only hits homers only on strikes.

Putting aside coaching and some less than stellar d at times we really played great, the offense even got it done tonight should have been enough. Should be fired up and ready for regional and we gave Bama #3 ranked and #2 Rpi all they wanted.

The very first pitch of the AB was a strike. I doubt they called a pitch down the middle but the pitch wasn't down the the middle. Again that's why you don't allow your 3rd string pitcher to go out there and challenge the SEC POY.

i don’t like intentional walks at all, but some people do. I would pitch to her and give her nothing to hit which is what i’m sure bender tried to do but it did not happen.

UT squanders a huge opportunity. With our inconsistent offense and pitching limitations, you have to play it smart.

100%. bender is your number two pitcher now. she pitched a great game. she went up against the best hitter in the sec and she didn’t win that battle, nothing to hang your head over. we need bender going forward and she’s gonna be fine.

First that's not the same as "she's learned to hit any pitch out". Secondly, where the fresh hell did I ever say give her something "a little off the plate"? You don't give her anything to hit. I've already agreed with your point that she will hit balls out that are near the zone but not in it -- just like any elite HR hitter -- so WTF are you arguing about? You're not even making the same point that you're saying was correct from the other poster. Go be annoying to someone else.
