Lamarcus Coker (Merged)

Cool.

I guess they liked what they saw from McNeil as well once they remembered to put him in the game...

Didn't they say that Frogg even played some tackle on Saturday, while McNeil was at C? Just sounds to me like we're trying everything we can on the O-line short of putting Meach and Swain up there.

I never saw Frogg at tackle, but I know for a fact that I saw him lineup at Guard. I assumed they did that so that McNeil wouldn't have to make line calls.

no Frogg played some guard while McNeil was at center, Frogg would get eaten alive at tackle. I like the change Frogg got abused against Florida and missed assignments and McNeil is a significant upgrade. The only real weak link I see with the Oline now is Anthony Parker at RG. He is overweight and slow and just doesn't impress me much at all. Hopefully Ramon Foster didn't eat a lot of cheetos while he was rehabbing beacause I think he will take that starting spot away plus McClendon will be creeping up too.

My bad. I got confused on where in the line he was. Still looks like it helped.

Who was in at TE on the long run? It looks like Brad Cottam. He sealed the end of the DL allowing Lamarcus to split a blitzing corner and a LB. I'm sure it was Brown on the other side of the formation, but can't tell who was on the left.

For what it's worth, I checked their 40 times coming out of high school on their Scout.com profile, and it hs Coker listed at a 4.4 and Hardesty at a 4.5. They don't look that close...

I like this, but it still aggravates me he did not get a chance against UF.

This made me mad, too. However, today in Nashville Hyams was on the radio saying that Coker had a slight hip flexer Florida week. That is the reason he didn't play. Anyone else hear this?

That's the first I've heard of that. If he was hurt, he sure did a heck of a job getting down the field to catch that flea flicker pass.

It will be interesting to see how Coker performs in the starting position. Never know, Hardesty will probably come in and break one off now.

I'm assuming Foster isn't going to be ready to go..

Maybe we could get all three RB's to line up for a forty yard dash at halftime of Alabama game sinceit's the next home game. Just joking around but I would like to see it.

Maybe Coker is a 4.36 and Hardesty is a 4.54 - that would be nearly 2 tenths and still round up/down. :)

Just curious as to, in this scenario, you still would have shorted Coker a hundredth of a second...he could be 4.35.

In all seriousness though, Rivals had him as running a 4.3 coming out of high school. That is blazing.

After watching that play tired or not our line knocked them on their butt. From there on out we had some big holes even with the new people we put in there

i don't care who the running back is. i just want them to get the job done.

and i think the guy who posted in the beggining was trying to say that Jamal Lewis holds the single GAME rushing record. he ran for over or close to 250 on the Browns TWICE in the same year.

Let's give credit where credit is due...I've been saying "just wait" for a year and a half and everybody said I was crazy. :)
If he runs between the tackles as well or better than the other two (like he did against Marshall) and holds on to the ball as well as the other two (like he did against Marshall), #22 is the best back at UT. Everything #2 does well, #22 does well...but you add three words...world...class...speed. Nothing against #2, but when #22 is on top of his game, he's on a different level. (I'll save the thought that he has twice as many two's as Hardesty for a reason for later.) :)

I believe the report this AM said that he practiced yesterday and would be available on Saturday. Could be wrong.

Glad to see that McNeil has made such strides. The coaches sound like they really like this kid. Funny how, especially over the past week, some of our "top-3" class is maturing???

Hardesty's not fast enough. Neither Hardesty nor Foster would have broken the 89 yd run. One of the guys with the angle would have caught them.

I agree, I'm not saying they're as fast as Coker. I'm just saying that the way things have gone this year, the backup RB seems to get the big runs.

Coker is not as tough between the tackles and does not break as many tackles. Plus he tends to put the ball on the ground more.

We will need all three to win against LSU and the Bulldogs. it is always nice to have a burner and a bruiser-just don't what Arian has for this year. It will be exciting to see him at 100% or close again.
