LaMarcus Coker suspension

honestly....my opinion on weed is that its not as big a deal as a lot of people make it out to be....if you can get ur stuff done then it should be alright...

that being said.....i don't have the millions on the line that coker does and the kid needs to understand that some things just arent worth it

i hope he gets his stuff in order and goes on to a great career at UT and beyond

the law says it is illegal and until it changes players must obey.

After our game on October 20th, I must ask that all of your players stay away from our players as I think that they could be a bad influence on our fine upstanding, law abiding young men.

Cmon guys, the mascot is even named Smokey.
i knew there was a reason we let you guys stick around......:eek:lol:

It's hard to lose a starter a few weeks before the opener. At least you guys aren't replacing Coker with a freshman with no game experience (ie, Cal cornerback Tim Mixon blows out knee, replacement freshman Syd'Quan Thompson tries to cover Meachem with less than stellar results).

Hopefully no one else will be suspended or injured on either side, so Sept. 1st can be a fair & square match-up.

He wasnt the starter. He would have got 10-15 touches but that would have probably been it. Now they will just spread out those to foster hardesty and creer.

I just saw where this suspension is most likely the result of a violation of the substance abuse policy. If this is true and if this suspension holds for at least the first game...a very important game against Cal...then my personnal opinion is that this could be egg in the face of Urban Meyer...as we all know full well how he handled a similar situation with Marcus Thomas last year. You can rip Fulmer for being lax with players in the past..but at least when he lays the law down its truly a punishment and not just for appearances. If he followed the Urban meyer approach for suspending players over substance abuse then Coker would sit out Arkansas St. UL-Lafayette this year

It was a result of substance abuse policy, for sure. Marijuana, to be exact. If this had happened 2 months ago, he'd be off the team.
