LaMarcus Coker suspension

Then Arky is really stupid. They have McFadden and Jones doing KR.

How about USC using Bush? How dumb were they?

I say put the ball in the hands of your best players as much as possible. If EB is the best then put him in.

Berry is a little smaller (5'11" 194 lb) then either McFadden (6'2" 205 lb) or Bush (6'0 203 lb).

You want to line him up at RB too?

I just don't want to see him get hurt, UT needs him at CB.

He reported to practices at 6' 203. In a video on utsports it showed him taking a snap at RB.

The part about him never playing corner actually has me really excited. He went to the Army AA game and was the top corner there after 2 practices and from reports he is picking up everything very quickly.

It seems he has the athletic ability and mental focus to be great but it just seems going from never playing the position to starting in his first few games would be a tall order.

while i won't discount that possiblity, the way you hear about him, he's going to probably play all three squads.....off, def, and st......injuries can happen anywhere........and in this day and age, when half of the criticism of the coaching staff is being conservative and not developing players, how can you not want to get this kid as many touches as you can???

there will be 1/2 of the fan base complaining that this is bad because he COULD get injured, and then there'll be 1/2 of the fanbased that would complain "why aren't we playing him?"........

complete catch 22.......simply cannot win either way.

for some reason... i got really excited reading this post. i flash forwarded to 4 years from now.... the heisman ceremony:

Ryan Mallett has just finished a fine career at the University of Michigan and is considered by all to be the best bet to win the Heisman (assuming Clausen is going to the NFL in 3 years). He's been one of the more prolific passers in Michigan history and broke a few records along the way.

and then.... an upset. this time, Eric Berry, a defensive back from UT gets the Heisman trophy. peyton manning, coming off another excellent year at the colts, smiles in retribution as charles woodson, now working as a color commentator for CSTV calls foul.

sweet justice.

He's a football player, play him. If putting him at RB gives the team the best shot to win? Yes.

Based on that article that someone posted saying that Coker was crying and very upset that he let the team down, I am hoping and thinking that he is going to get this straightened out pretty quick.

I say (hope) he is back on the field by the FLA game at the latest.

I think there is a good chance. Fulmer knows his job is on the line, and Coker was going to play a big role for the Vols this year. If we don't beat Florida this year, I can see Fulmer getting fired.

If so, the Vols should possibly consider hiring Jeff Tedford. It would save a lot of time and effort for a couple of the regular posters here. :good!:

Nah, Fulmer will use it as an excuse for losing.

What a MORON!!!! He has the whole world in front of him and can't stop from smoking weed.

Personally...I just don't get it when I see athletes throw their career away over weed. Believe me...I am no stranger to mary jane...I knew her pretty well while I was in college. But how could these guys throw away the chance at millions..or, in the case of Ricky Wiliiams, actually having millions...to smoke weed.

1. It's not that addictive

AND

2. It's not that great of an experience

I have tried it a few times in h.s. and I rather have a nice frosty Budweiser.

Weed = overrated

His job is not on the line this year. He would have to lose a BUNCH of games in order to lose his job this year. And it looked that Foster was going to start anyway! It is a shame the kid did this TO HIMSELF but he did. You can blame CPF for a bunch of stuff but this was the right decision. I hope Coker get's his head right and can play. But if he don't then it is on him100%.

He said he may be back in a week, 2 weeks, a month, he doesn't know. Will he suspend him? Probably, but my guess is that he is back by UF. We did just fine against Cal last year with him playing only mopup duty. We will be fine this year(barring injury).

Hope you are right, but I think I'd guess October before he worked his way back on the field.

Schlabach on espn CFL just said something about Coker's failed test being because of a medical issue. Indicating extenuating circumstances.

What the heck is this about?

Just thinking, it could be for something other than pot? Maybe popping pills, you never know her could have got pills from his injury/surgery then got hooked them.
