That’s what I was getting at. It’d be great if e could pass them out like candy, but mass testing is just not a practical solution.Even producing one kit a second would yield around 600 thousand a week. Wouldn't be able to cover everyone in 10 years at that rate.
Random sampling seems to be the only practical approach, outside of critical testing.
If we figured out a way to test everybody and truly knew theNumber that were infected, I’d bet the current economic paralysis would look like child’s play.
The death rate would only fall, further proving this was a vast overreaction.

Some states also require women to wear shirts in public. And I once saw a sign that said "No shirt, no shoes, no service." Is there no end to these infringements on our liberties!
Easter is a Christian holiday.
It’s an impossibly high standard. Americans don’t want confidence. They want a green light.A decision to have the economy re-open is dependent on this information. And in fact if we re-open soon, as Trump wants, its not going to be that strong until people have confidence that they can get on planes, go to restaurants, etc. Best way to get that confidence is testing, or at least randomized as suggested above. Enough so that we can give people a sense that they can be reasonably assured that odds of contracting the virus are low, and getting lower.

This has been my take on the getting back to work. Being able to do it responsibly is difficult enough without masks and hand sanitizer, so that's not even an option, presently, so it's just a leap of faith without it, and a stupid one.
I've seen people say, that it's leveled off in New York, and that New York is different that other places, anyway. Well, people are staying inside in New York and as soon as they don't, It all goes to hell. Every major city in the country will be a slow motion replay of New York. Why people think it won't be the same practically everywhere, is just their wishful thinking, IMO.
Trump can't force any state to do squat, but he can open up International Air Travel if the states willing to let people leave the airports, so, he can start with that.
Oh, and he wants Barr to protect peoples religious rights on Sunday... whatever.. he doesn't give a crap about it.. but he figures it will play well in Nov.
What did you perceive as bitching?
What Trump was doing . I didn’t address opinions as to why and it being subjective , based on partisan ideology . We should be celebrating any politician right now that’s defending the constitution, these are the times we can so easily lose our rights over fear and panic .
The only thing I've heard is that Trump wants to open up the country, did he ever close it? So, what is he actually doing? Maybe I missed it.
Oh, and the Barr thing, which was a bunch of nothing about being equitable in restrictions. A waste of paper, if it was actually put on paper.
Everyone has access to health care. Everyone can go to planned parenthood and get free birth control and abortions. Not sure how those are factors.
He allowed the governors to make the call. Why does that bother you? Is he closer to the action? And I would guess you would prefer him to not make any decisions. So why the complaint? The only thing I've heard is that Trump wants to open up the country, did he ever close it? So, what is he actually doing? Maybe I missed it.

Seems to me that he’s doing what everybody is doing , trying to figure out where that red line in the sand is and balancing an outbreak vs a country that is hurting economically in every way . Bring it back online too soon and it will have to shut it down again , let it stay down too long and we all get to watch everything crumble . The only thing keeping this country going right now is our food supply isn’t in danger . Let that take a hit and we will see some bad sh!t happen . The Barr thing is more than worth its weight in gold , Again we have a president that’s saying we have constitutional rights still . You do realize how easily he could declare martial law right now don’t you ? All the levers have been pulled . We should be thankful ( for whatever reason ) he’s smart enough not to do it .
