Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Yes but to what? Shutting down the first quarter and half the second? Or get used to this being here to stay and we treat it like the flu where society doesnt care.

Wearing face masks in public after the worst of COVID19 may be the new norm once the economy is reopened. I would anticipate people would shake hands less in public and limit physical contact. Restaurants, Gyms, grocery stores, airlines etc. may have to implement new changes until a vaccine comes available. It is really tough to say or predict because this is so new to us all in the US. I have traveled several times through S. Korea, Japan, China and Thailand and pre COVID19, just about all of people I encountered were wearing masks while in transit or on-board international flights.

The good people of Kentucky should have had armed citizens protecting their parking lot and advised those state troopers of the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th Amendments.
I wonder if those Trooper's dyslexia kicked in when it came to writing down those licences numbers. They didn't look too happy to be there.

Ok. I am a full time minister. I am not in Tennessee. We have 0 Cases in our county (the map says we have 1, but that person has been out of state for months, they just sent his positive test to home of record). When all this started happening, we had meetings with medical professionals, and our County government leaders. We made a decision that we would suspend in the building services. We went online for the first 2 weeks. For the past 2 weeks we have been online and drive in church. We don't have the fm transmitter. people just roll their window down. I think my politics is this though. I think you can ask the churches to suspend in person services in the building till this blows over, which we have. But to ban them goes against the first amendment.

“Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every authority…” (1 Peter 2:13)

I agree in principle with you, but Jesus, Peter and Paul told us to obey those in authority. I know there are different ways to interpret the passages in question, but the gist is to not be disobedient. Gathering online or by radio (is it possible to get local AM air time?) is just as good.

were we all in there at one time? Stop being dumb and using false arguments. Stop trying to be a victim. Worship God where you are.

Again I missed the warning that said as long as you go in one at a time no matter how long the store is open you’ll be fine . If I desire a Big Mac at their drive through or a new bottle of Jim Beam the government says I’m good , if I want to receive communion thru my car window on Easter Sunday they fine me for being dangerous to the public . Exactly who is being the victim here between us ? I love how selective your argument is .

I believe he also said to give to god what is gods . If you can receive communion through your car window on Easter Sunday and don’t because “it’s too dangerous “ but it wasn’t too dangerous for you to go to McDonald’s and then the liquor store on Saturday . To each his own , but that’s one question I’d rather not have to try and explain to him if he asks me .

I think the implication that we should wait for a city to become a hotspot before we disrupt business as usual is a dangerous one. I'm sure most are advocating for some middle ground selective shutdown, which is great in theory, but like hydroxychloroquine I doubt it's the simple solution people want it to be
Shutting everything down is the quick and easy solution. But actually using a few brain cells and figuring out how to be more permissive instead of prohibitive is hard.

Jesus, Peter, and Paul never quit preaching the Word when they were told to. And they never quit meeting in groups.

Or get caught meeting in homes, or speaking of God publicaly cause it may cost you your life. Yet, they pressed on.

Starting week 4 of this and I'm still of the opinion that those who aren't at risk of dying should be getting back to work and have restaraunts and what not opened again. Everybody will get sick anyway, start it sooner rather than later and protect the elderly, sick, and their caretakers.

I was in a meeting this morning and got confirmation that all deaths are considered covid if the person has tested positive even if they die from a car wreck or any other issue.
I haven't heard of anyone being tested after death. I highly doubt they are wasting tests on dead car accident victims.
