Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Has anybody researched the effectiveness of fireworks on the coronavirus? It’s got light, heat and chemicals. Maybe there’s someway we can get this into the body or through the skin. A cleansing of sorts.
Few things that I know work 100%:

Blood alcohol level at 0.4%. It will kill the corona virus dead.
Staring at the sun
Polish revolver.

Playgrounds and schools should be open. This thing has zero effect on kids. They are missing out on learning and life.

This is some next level boomer selfishness keeping kids stuff closed while they still go out golfing and shopping every other day.

Not arguing whether either should be open or not, but kids don't go to either without adult supervision. What am I missing here?

Obviously everyone, especially with school age children have had to change thier lifestyle. But I know several families that have changed, adapted and decided to continue with the change even after things get back to "normal" because they've grown closer as a family. These kids aren't missing out on life.

I also have some selfish friends that have been miserable with the kids and the wife being around so much.

Interesting how its viewed so differently.

They are fighting this particular one because it happens to be the one that Trump promoted. Remember, Orange Man = bad.

Partisan thinking is a very dangerous form of intellectual laziness, true, but it cuts both ways.

One thing I’ve noticed is that partisans on both sides operate like mediocre ball hogs in basketball. They don’t remember the shots they miss or all the times they get burned on defense.

Not a political issue. Anything that works will be used, and no one cares what it is. Lots of properly controlled clinical trials in the pipeline. We will know a lot more soon.

That could be one of the most words I’ve ever seen used for one simple lie .

Since you can be tested as negative and then infected 30 minutes later; its futile, pointless, and giving a false sense of security.

Yes, but OTOH there is utility (and peace of mind) knowing you've already had the virus. Aside from knowing the chance of reinfection and transmission to your circle of people is low, I'd see that as value in employment: "Bill's Big Burgers -Antibody-Laden Staff Ensure Your Safe Eating Enjoyment!"

I’ve been shot so many times with bottle rockets and Roman candles by cousins and friends that I should be immune . Lol

Hoad's etymology gives 'whilst' as a derivation of 'whiles', an adverbial form of 'while'. The 't' on the end is parasitic (cf. among~amongst, amid~amidst, etc.). 'Whilst' started to be used as a conjunction, equivalent to 'while', in the 13th century.
In modern British English, 'whilst' is supposedly a more formal variant of 'while'. It is also, in my experience, particularly beloved of students who write bad essays.

Methinks you have a good point.

So you think kids not being in class, not playing in sports, not playing with other kids at playgrounds, etc are not missing their lives? They are the ones hurting the most. Older folks can read, drink their bourbon, watch TV. Kids aren't kids without other kids.

Larry was even a good coach. I think all the injuries allowed him to relate to the NBA mortals and give them ways to play their best.

‘86 Bird was the greatest player I’ve ever seen, but that peak didn’t last long. Like a great punk band, he was coming apart even as he rose.

I hate Larry Bird but man he was so good

A) Cite your source.
B) I've answerd that.
Right off the top of my head there are studies from China, France and NY City that have shown promise with this drug but that's not for us to say. It's up to the doctors to evaluate these studies and if they think it's beneficial then they should be able to prescribe it.

How many players ever got the other team fined for cheering on their greatness like Bird did when he put up 60 on Atlanta by banking one in from the trainer’s lap? I mean he’d burned everyone else.
Yep he is definitely imo the greatest basketball player ever that wasn’t partly bc he was an athletic freak

And for a couple years, a good GM.
Like a product of genetic splicing in the Spalding factory or something.
