I think it goes back to the modeling. They're evidently predicting a big surge due to people getting back to work and trying to resume their lives...

It also stated that the daily death toll would reach 3,000 which is about twice where it is right now.

At 3,000/day it would take less than a month to double the total of deaths to date... but this is fuzzy math for sure.

Those numbers are coming from that leaked CDC update - apparently they are from a Johns Hopkins model. I look at it don't really buy into it. In reality, I think we've already seen TRUE daily case counts as high as 2-300k a day several weeks ago. So any model that isn't showing that has me suspicious.

While its not unreal to think that as people begin moving around more that we'll see deaths increase again (though this doesn't account for potential impacts of weather), I'm generally suspicious of this model.
