And you have assigned a lot of guilt at Amash. What has he said that made you feel this particular way towards him? What made you think it was him going after Trump and not following process? Like I said I havent read up on the matter, maybe something is there that Amash was being political. I havent seen it, and you havent supported it as part of your argument.

And think this goes back to Rockys point of Amash actually voting against the renewal of the FISA. Sounds like he did realize there was oversteps and did what he could as a legislature. I have no clue what the timing of this is. Maybe your right and he has it backwards, but I havent seen you support that with dates.

Amash wasn't opposing renewal of FISA per se, but opposing renewal of Section 702 unless amended. 702 allows collecting data of foreigners outside the U.S in contact with Americans in the U.S., without a warrant. Though data is collected end-end, it cannot be used to target Americans. The Amash-Lofgren amendment proposed that a warrant be required, except in urgent situations. But such communications between Russian actors and Trump campaign, for example, would not require exercise of 702 since FBI and NSA can do that under the original FISA statute. Nor does concern for how Trump and team were abused appear to be part of Amash's rationale.

Amash went on a 20-tweet twitter in May last year, laying out a case that Trump should be impeached following the Mueller report. He essentially called Barr a liar and Trump lackey, uninterested in constitutional rule of law. His Ukraine impeachment vote was merely a continuation.

He got nothing right about the Mueller probe re: obstruction of justice, and certainly not impeachment which I think Mueller intended. I see nothing to indicate he has acknowledged the agencies' corruption, acknowledged the wrong done to Trump, Pappadopoulos, Page, or Flynn, or apologized to Barr.

I don't see how Amash is such an opponent of federal abuse of power while not acknowledging THIS abuse, and even incriminating those abused by it.

Great; it's what I like about libertarians and used to like about Amash. But when faced with a practical case of a presidential campaign, then sitting president and WH officials being a target of bureaucratic abuse of power - or at absolute best, dupes of Russian propaganda - Amash is flaccid. Talks the X & Os like a winner but stays in the locker room on gameday.

Two or your articles are from 2018 and the other form 2019. Now that we've seen FBI, DOJ and intel go after a president, even when they knew they had nothing before Mueller's appointment, and ruined others maliciously with no purpose other than to get Trump, where's Amash? This is his opening, the most spectacular abuse and corruption in our lifetime. How does he avoid driving the point home - "If they can do this to a president, a career military veteran, ruining Carter Page and Pappadopouos, etc, what can they do to you and I?" - while allegedly opposing FISA?

It's reasonable to think Amash values opposition to Trump more than the values he professes.

It’s more reasonable to think that he just hasn’t partaken of the administration’s kool-aid to the degree that you have.

In fact, Trump pushing FISA expansion is a great example of why Amash’s values warrant opposition to Trump. So your conclusion is not really very reasonable at all. As a legislator, he’s done everything he can to prevent it from being misused.

You expect even more than that from Amash, but won’t hold Trump accountable for pushing for FISA renewal. You clearly don’t care about the issue except to the extent you can use it to absolve Trump or abuse his critics. Which is why I didn’t mean to reply to you.

Truth is nobody knows for sure where this pandemic will lead, but in the history of mankind, the fastest we've developed a vaccine is 4 years.
