How are people not "being taken care of"? The gov't is giving folks more on unemployment than they got in their jobs. I think the gov't has screwed up a lot here but their people are not dying of exposure and hunger due to this

Oh this is so lazy. “ modest challenge?” More like largest economic tidal wave to hit our economy in our lifetime. “Flounder and fail.” Totally not accurate. Do you know why farmers “destroyed unused crops?” Hint: Has to do with why this not a “modest challenge.” This crisis is not a “direct result” of what he claims in his final paragraph of nonsense. It’s the direct result of virus that is easily communicable and deadly with certain populations. One we have never seen before. There is a reason it’s called a “once in 100 year pandemic.”

This so assinine on so many levels. I get why you like it.
"Asteroid to collide with Earth tomorrow, minorities and women hardest hit."

I've seen identical posts to that one from FB. You have to take a step back and admire the sheer willpower to ignore enough facts to have that viewpoint. It's impressive in a really messed up way.

You are missing the more salient point. This isn't as much about hydroxychloroquine as it is Trump's petty and self-absorbed accusation that epidemiologists and virologists are harboring a political bias against him for merely expressing professional opinions which happen to run counter to something he has advocated for. Trump's schema revolves around placing everyone into one of the two camps inside of the American political divide. Nobody is merely a professional anymore, just doing their job. Trump's childishly simplistic and egocentric approach to others is centered entirely on this American political division and assigning anyone who expresses an opposing opinion to his with a politically-motivated agenda based in a malicious intent against him. This is a means of protecting his ego. That is not strong leadership. It's the work of an emotionally immature and unevolved narcissist who places his own ego at a greater level of importance than doing what is right.
How many politicians, for that matter posters on this site fit the same description?

Agreed this isn't Socialism but how is this about the market when an authoritarian govt essentially shut down the market? How in the hell is that a modest challenge?

The guy who wrote that seems to not have a clue

Michigan House, Senate Sue Gov. Gretchen Whitmer over State of Emergency Extension

The Michigan House of Representatives and Senate joined forces on Wednesday to sue Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) after she bypassed the legislature to extend the state of emergency declaration.

“Only the Legislature has the power to extend the state of emergency,” House Speaker Lee Chatfield (R-Levering) told reporters on Wednesday, adding the law is “very clear,” the Detroit Free Press reported.

“The Legislature is left with no choice but to seek the court’s intervention to restore constitutional order,” Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey (R-Clarklake) said.

Chatfield contended Whitmer opted to “go it alone,” and not work with the legislature.

“Because of that we filed a lawsuit today in the Court of Claims, challenging the governor’s unconstitutional actions,” Chatfield said, according to the Detroit News.

“Today was very avoidable, but it is necessary. It’s a sad day for our state because we truly should all be working together.”

Last week, both the House and Senate passed resolutions allowing their respective leaders to pursue legal action against Whitmer after she extended the state of emergency, which expired April 28.

Her action required the shuttering of bars, restaurants, casinos, and theaters for another 28 days.

“If she does not recognize the end of the emergency declaration, we have no other choice, but to act for our constituents,” Shirkey said, the News reported.

Amid confusion over the validity and clarity of Whitmer’s declarations, Attorney General Dana Nessel sent a letter to law enforcement agencies “confirming” they should be taking action against violators of social distancing and other stay-at-home regulations.
