You aren't normally this emotionally reactive.Did this guy really claim that Wuhan and South Korea did nothing? That tells me all I need to know about this crazy ass.
Also, he apparently doesn’t study history when it comes to pandemics. Last I checked, several do have second waves.
What they really mean is: We need to weaken TrumpFirst it was we need to flatten the curve.
Then it was we need to get testing numbers up.
Now it’s we need a vaccine.
Next? Probably we need to wait and see if the vaccine is effective next year.
This has to stop. Burócratas love to control the people.
I have not looked into the details of how they used the technology.I would like better clarification. Think how many people were within 16' in a trip to the store and how many those were in contact with someone else. Considering it takes 1-2 weeks to know you are infected, you are talking billions of social "contacts".
If it takes 1-2 weeks to even know if I came in contact with someone, it is too late for all the other contacts had in the meantime.
I found this in the COVID thread in the pub. Very interesting read. I encourage everyone to do so.
‘We could open up again and forget the whole thing’
Scientists are in a very strange situation. They now depend on government funding, which is a trend that has developed over the past 40 years. Before that, when you were a professor at a university, you had your salary and you had your freedom. Now, the university gives you a desk and access to the library. And then you have to ask for government money and write grant applications. If you are known to criticise the government, what does that do to your chance of getting funded? It creates a huge conflict of interest. The people who are speaking out in Germany and Switzerland are all independent of government money because they are retired.
So you paid 0% for your PhD and you question the government's role in universities? How upstanding of you.True. 100%
My PhD was paid for 25% by the University of Tennessee and 75% by the DoD. I think people would be shocked to learn how heavily involved the government is in both public and private universities.
Yup. Me and virtually every PhD student in the country that is in my field. So you paid 0% for your PhD and you question the government's role in universities? How upstanding of you.
