It’s actually a nonissue for me . Other than counting people to see how the public is trending with them I don’t care either way . The only consistency I’ve seen are the employees at different businesses wear masks .

I taught aseptic technique for years and know how hard it is to keep a sterile field...also most ppl either don't wear masks correctly and end up touching their face more...and with gloves..they are only good until you touch something contaminated...most don't do frequent hand washing or sanitizing while wearing them...that said I wore a mask yesterday because the young girl at the entrance of Barnes and Noble insisted on it...we bought some cool ones for our road trip just in case they are required

They are classified covid19. They may not admit them if they are not in danger but they don't touch procedures where you have to intubate the pt to accomplish the goal.
In short unless it's life or death, covid positives don't go to the OR.. If they do the room has to be ultravioleted and terminally cleaned x2. That's at least 10 hours of downtime for a surgical suite.
2 negatives tests one pcr and one outside lab before they come off the super secret droplet plus isolation. Then they can move them to surgery.

What I don’t get is going to home improvement stores and seeing elderly people. Why are you here? Why did you both need to come in? Why are you looking at plants during a pandemic where 80% of fatalities are in your age group? And the ones with masks will run right up in your ****. I keep my distance from everyone at stores but the masked idjits don’t care, that repurposed quilt square makes them immune to the virus.

Yes every patient is being tested pre procedure which are being classified as COVID cases

Maybe contemptuous is a better way to describe it than mad. I have seen people make dumb comments at people wearing masks and it baffles me as to why people who dont want to wear a mask care if somebody wants to wear one. Maybe they're not "sheep," maybe they just trust a different doctor.

Migrant workers are finally being tested in large groups and that is a large jump. They are also focusing on at risk population which will also result in higher numbers. The youth getting it are not in trouble

That cuts both ways and someone wearing a mask should keep their mouth shut regarding my decision to not wear one.

That blade cuts both ways . That’s without even mentioning the lack of comments about protestors not wearing them , by the media and the ones that “ trust a different doctor “ .

Why is it bad news? As long as at risk folks isolate it gets us well on our way to herd immunity.

These spikes simply aren’t bad news unless you are of the ilk that’s gets off on fear porn and dramatic headlines.

Eveytime somebody links a story that says this is bad news looks supremely immature and stupid.

Not sure why you quoted that. Some docs advise wearing masks, some dont. At least according to posters here.

You can talk about the media all you want. Dont watch them if you dont agree. I'm talking about individual interactions.

I havent seen you criticizing anyone for wearing a facemask so my comment isn't directed at you. Its hypocritical for those that make not wearing a mask a big personal freedom issue while criticizing people that choose to wear them. No need to tell a lady in a grocery store parking lot that she is a sheep.

I would be more impressed by you if your reading comprehension skills were a little more advanced. I don’t see how you came to the conclusion that I would get violent over some Karen bitching about me not wearing a mask.

By the way, in 1986, I applied to and was accepted by the University of the South. I wasn’t able to attend because I was called to Army Basic Training earlier than I expected.
