I'd send Karen's ass down there to apologize just for fun, then I would set up somewhere he can drop the mail in. If you make Karen accept the mail you could get LG'd if she gets sick.Have a little office quandary. My office manager Karened our mailman last Thursday for showing up without a mask after our idiot county mayor issued his mask order. So no mail Friday and after no mail yesterday I went to the post office to drop mail and find out WTF and that's when they told me about the Karen call. Turns out USPS can't make their carriers wear a mask if they don't want to and if he refuses to wear a mask he doesn't have to go into buildings that require a mask.
So I'm pissed at my office whiner for being a Karen but since this is a federal .gov employee I feel I should make a stink since they can refuse to wear a mask and do their job. What to do?
You can’t say that with certainty. It’s illogical that people shoulder to shoulder in tight spaces wouldn’t transmit a virus. If so, what’s the difference between an outdoor protest and a sports crowd? Im sure you could get a sports crowd to mask up and observe distancing WAY better than a protest mob. It's the bars and other indoor spaces. It's not the outdoor events.
In other words....Why? This is a national health crisis. The virus will not stop infecting people until they are forced into isolation. The US probably needed another month - at least - under the previous stay at home orders.
I do think we can leave more businesses open this time if a shutdown occurs. Sanitizer is pretty much everywhere you go. Barbers and salons have done a good job in protecting people. Every restaurant I've been to has been very careful. Distancing will be the key to businesses remaining open.
I’m not saying we can’t walk back some of the most at risk businesses - just have some common sense about it and dont force full on quarantines that obviously don’t work....mitigate it without completely stopping everybody’s life every couple of months.
Everybody is replaceable.
Best check your employment statutes to make sure your state is not a "good faith and fair dealing" labor environment if you're thinking about letting her go. And you should let her go - - how dare her for being concerned about health and welfare
Expanding your situation - - A day will soon come when it get's litigated whose rights take precedence over the rights of another. Your right to not wear a mask does give you the right to contaminate me and risk my death. It would seem there is enough evidence now for those "you coulda and shoulda known" rationale driven litigators to litigate if tracing identifies a culprit

She just signed a contract that will have her in Richmond 3-4 days a weeks . Hotel rooms paid , food stipend , and will be about 100 miles from the house . You can pretty much negotiate your contract to fit what you want , it also give you the ability to turn down hospitals you don’t want to be at ( for whatever reason )
Don’t be sorry at all. I completely agree with you and I have. I’ve just witnessed one dumb thing after another from the general public. I was in Hilton Head during a Memorial Day and there was no way there wasn’t going to be a surge based on what I was seeing.Sorry to have to go here BUT, it's your responsibility to stay away from dumbasses. Nobody else's.
So todays positivity rate is .04% here in Virginia but rumor is Uncle Ralph is gonna put us back in phase 2 ensuring kids can't return to school this fall. Why does he want to do this? Because the teachers union here in Virginia wants 100% distance learning and who do they vote for?
