In general terms, this disease affect the vast majority or young people with digestive symptoms. But they carry it to the adults in their lives and then, ...
But I teach in a community k-8 school of 250 children. We have 23 children deemed high risk if they catch Covid-19 due to underlying health conditions. So that is @9%. I am SPED so these children work closely with me and I know their medical and education needs intimately. Some will learn online, but home is not always safe if their guardians and parents refuse or fail to take reasonable precautions. My experience tells me four of them would die quickly if they have severe symptoms. Others have higher chances and physical and mental resources to fight back against the infection and associated risks.
Serious question, What is your threshold of dead children or kids with lung damage or other associated problems before this meets your criteria of a significant threat?
Your reading comprehension skills are atrocious. Here’s his actual quote (the one you referenced in the article)It was in the article referenced. Dates and specific interview are noted. I remember watching at
Least one of them myself.
It’s right there in print and video. The highlight in two interviews was that the United States was not going to be a significantly affected by the virus. No way you can spin this to fit your narrative. These are the medical professionals who are advising the president.Your reading comprehension skills are atrocious. Here’s his actual quote (the one you referenced in the article)
“Obviously, you need to take it seriously and do the kind of things the (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and the Department of Homeland Security is doing. But this is not a major threat to the people of the United States and this is not something that the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about.”
That was in response to a very leading question in January 21st, at the time there was 1 confirmed case in Seattle. You don’t think an epidemiologists opinions and recommendations can evolve with fluid data on the ground? Or are you not aware that what we knew of the virus at that time was almost entirely reliant upon what the Chinese government was allowing to be released (meanwhile your man practically fellates Xi and his country’s response on Twitter).
How you got your interpretation of “nothing to ever worry about” that is totally is on you.
So you admit it was not a total ban then? And practically how did those quarantines go? By the time the “ban” was in place the virus was already widespread. Again, wow, congrats on that amazing response.... lol. Hmmm do we think there is incompetence of a top ten nationally academic hospital and best hospital in the mid south? Or could it be complete incompetence from a reality tv star? I never said Trump has to be blamed for everything but he has made the situation worse, and when is he ever going to accept one shred of responsibility? I’ll wait for you to find a good quote for that one.We quarantined them. We also quarantined American citizens off the infected cruise lines. Trump has laid the ground work for supplies including invoking the act requesting Mfg companies to converting their production of needed medical supplies. Maybe the shortage of PPE is incompetence with your hospitals specific purchasing department and administration. Delay in testing results ? No. 1 answer is the overwhelming number of tests being performed and likely insufficient technology to develop a system that can process tests faster. Trump certainly cannot be blamed for everything that goes wrong but CNN and MSNBC certainly place Trump at the level of a serial killer if you listen to their broadcasts.
Read the quote.... I can’t help you apparently. It’s right there in print and video. The highlight in two interviews was that the United States was not going to be a significantly affected by the virus. No way you can spin this to fit your narrative. These are the medical professionals who are advising the president.
Trump called it a hoax and said it would Just disappear yet you just keep glossing over that and patting him on the back. It’s strange to me.Ah...No, he did not dismiss the virus until the last few weeks. The national Emergency was declared in March and he stopped travel from China and then some of the European Countries before or soon after the declaration. It seems your comments come directly from CNN and MSNBC talking points. This country obviously was not prepared for this pandemic but that is true for all the countries. The only country that seemed to control the virus in a shorter time was China and you saw the videos how an authoritian state handles it. I do not think that would fly in the US, just look at the resistance in wearing masks now. I agree with the masks issues and the rally but has there been a spike in Iowa after the rally? Trump was recommending g masks but should of set the example. The curve starting flattening and in hindsight everyone thought we were in the process of getting over this. Trump did well in getting help to the states that needed help, New York and Michigan come to mind. That’s just a few thoughts. He has done well on some things and. Inot so well on other issues but some of the problems were just beyond our control and learning curve because we never had this problem in our lifetimes. Regarding Fauci, I just think he was in over head and is relying on the
Media influence ( or Admin influence) when making decisions. Another incorrect analysis reported by Fauci was the virus would fade in the Summer. We know how that turned out, right ?
The China response is very likely the right one. However our society and government of the people, BY THE PEOPLE will not except a totalitarian response. The problem with the US trying the China response for one problem will led to opening Pandora's box. We already have enough government heavy handedness interfering with our individual rights "for the good of the country".Chinas response will be the right one which means it wouldnt work here because of peoples feelings
I guess we either just grab headlines or hear what we want.... your same article, first paragraph (which by the way we’re talking Feb 19):
He should not have called it a hoax. I have been on the record that not alll actions or statements by Trump were right. Are you willing to state that he has been right on a few things?Trump called it a hoax and said it would Just disappear yet you just keep glossing over that and patting him on the back. It’s strange to me.
Very few. Here’s the Freaking leader of this country and in his biggest test with lives on the line he not only blew it but his response has been outrageous. He wanted it out of the media in hopes it would disappear so that his poll numbers weren’t affected. He should not have called it a hoax. When did he call it a hoax at a pep rally?Very few. Here’s the Freaking leader of this country and in his biggest test with lives on the line he not only blew it but his response has been outrageous. You CANNOT be a leader and call it a hoax by the democrats at a pep rally!! That is childish. People were dying and he’s supposed to be helping yet he was denying it’s very existence. It is simply unforgivable and set the standard we are seeing today where people have been brushing it off. His lack of leadership is the sole reason we are where we are today.
People are ignoring the social distancing and mask mandates. Sullivan County Tn is peaking again with COVID but I just saw photos from Painter Creek Marina where hundreds of people were congregating with live music and zero social distancing. Did not see anyone with a mask on in the photos I saw.Large swaths of California have had mask mandates for going on four months. Why are there cases there?
