Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

You brought up specific topics about trump. I was pointing out that they were... uh,
interesting...I guess those talking about impeachment before he took office were pretty good judges of character...
I don’t agree. The impeachment was a sham and politically motivated and it’s being proven more and more every day. You will have to provide details about his lack of character as related to how it effects the country.
Trump brings good things to the table. He was not a Career government bureaucrat for one and stopped or is the process of leveling the trade imbalances with other countries. We needed that. The economy was kicking ass until COVID. Employment was at record highs especially for Afro-Americans. His fighting spirit can be both an asset and a liability. Before COVID, Trump
was running the US like a business which is something we have not had or ever had before. He is still trying to get back to that now.

Fair enough but my point is that you go on a trade against Fauci but you never mention the guy who is supposed to be leading us through this? I just find that strange. This smear campaign against Fauci is coordinated to pass blame so that the President can attempt to dodge liability in hopes of getting re-elected. Period. That’s not to say I’m arguing for Fauci, that’s beside the point. The bizarre thing happening are those screaming at Fauci while the head man in charge is somehow immune? Very weird logic. Being upset in Fauci should equally result in pissed at Trump. He’s flat out ignored the response to this virus in hopes the economy wouldn’t crumble. Now that the virus is still here months after he said it would disappear, his political ambitions require a scapegoat. It’s clear as day.
I don’t care what side of the aisle anyone is in politically. I just want there to be logic when it comes to condemnation of Fauci by passing that same criticism to the leader.

Trump has done this like 30 different times, acting like literally everyone around him (many of whom he picked himself) is to blame, but never him...and people eat it up. Over and over.

The level of excuse-making for Trump's handling of the virus is giving me Butch Jones flashbacks, to be honest. It was Dooley's fault! It was Hurd! It was the media! It was every assistant coach and member of the program that reports to Butch, but Butch is the man!! It's still Year Negative Two so going 5-7 is amazing!

No, not every politician turns over their entire staff every few weeks and demands absolute loyalty above all else

1st point is an exaggeration.

2nd point-IDK , do you have a link? It is still not unusual for a president’s staff to adhere to his direction. This is true for most companies or businesses.

Ah...No, he did not dismiss the virus until the last few weeks. The national Emergency was declared in March and he stopped travel from China and then some of the European Countries before or soon after the declaration. It seems your comments come directly from CNN and MSNBC talking points. This country obviously was not prepared for this pandemic but that is true for all the countries. The only country that seemed to control the virus in a shorter time was China and you saw the videos how an authoritian state handles it. I do not think that would fly in the US, just look at the resistance in wearing masks now. I agree with the masks issues and the rally but has there been a spike in Iowa after the rally? Trump was recommending g masks but should of set the example. The curve starting flattening and in hindsight everyone thought we were in the process of getting over this. Trump did well in getting help to the states that needed help, New York and Michigan come to mind. That’s just a few thoughts. He has done well on some things and. Inot so well on other issues but some of the problems were just beyond our control and learning curve because we never had this problem in our lifetimes. Regarding Fauci, I just think he was in over head and is relying on the
Media influence ( or Admin influence) when making decisions. Another incorrect analysis reported by Fauci was the virus would fade in the Summer. We know how that turned out, right ?
I could point to virtually any other country in the world as a nation that handled the pandemic better ( I’ll exclude Italy and Brazil I suppose). Do you think the cases are so high here because we are simply testing more? Because that sounds like a President/foxnews talking point. Also Trump did not stop all travel from China, you do realize that right? Please tell me you know that. That false Narrative seems to be the only thing Trump has been able to remotely point to in terms of a response.
How could we have possibly asked for a cohesive national strategy?

Source on the travel ban from China not being legit and how do you know that it is not also false narrative? I’m not saying you are wrong. Generally anytime Trump has tried to intervene on an issue the last 5 months there is blowback that it is not constitutional with the Portland riots being the prime example. List issues where Trump has failed regarding the COVID response.

Why don’t you do your own research on all the exemptions on the travel ban (or you know just do a cursory google search), but ask yourself what the US did with all its citizens living in China that flew back after the “ban” or foreign nationals of other countries?
And as far as your other question, are you kidding me? We don’t even have time to begin that nonsense. 154k dead in this country, he’s the head of the executive branch, where is his response? Oh cool he sent a naval ship to NYC that one time! Why are we still struggling with supply of PPE in my hospital? Why are the turn around times for test results up to over 10 days in some areas? Why is he sowing distrust of our critical medical institutions in a time of absolute crisis? (Something that has clearly resonant with you). His entire approach to this will be an albatross around his neck and deservedly so.

I got tested on Saturday. They called on Tues, 3 days later, to say I was negative.

Just saying. What "areas" are taking 10 days?

We quarantined them. We also quarantined American citizens off the infected cruise lines. Trump has laid the ground work for supplies including invoking the act requesting Mfg companies to converting their production of needed medical supplies. Maybe the shortage of PPE is incompetence with your hospitals specific purchasing department and administration. Delay in testing results ? No. 1 answer is the overwhelming number of tests being performed and likely insufficient technology to develop a system that can process tests faster. Trump certainly cannot be blamed for everything that goes wrong but CNN and MSNBC certainly place Trump at the level of a serial killer if you listen to their broadcasts.
