Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Yeah, anyone can talk about anything but he is a joke as a sports commentator, why would he be any better in a field in which he has no expertise?

The Kardashian family showed that you don't have to know anything to make a mint in the media business. As for Travis, he reports a lot of facts that you can check

Since 90+ per cent is coming back negative, how 'bout if fewer people get tested? I think we're doing far more tests than we need to

Oddly enough, I agree. Our testing strategy is so inept and incoherent that it’s pointless to get tested in many cases because by the time you get the information back it’s irrelevant. Regardless, the US represents 4.25% of the world population and 23% of the world covid deaths, so what do you suggest to turn these embarrassing numbers around?

Im good, is what it is. I will say that when Trump took HCL, I remember reading people with autoimmune diseases went into panic mode and I am a Trump supporter. I really didn’t think too much about it because I was undiagnosed at the time. A pharmacist friend said HCL was readily available Yet here we are, politics involved to get an easily attained drug. I have very mixed feelings at this juncture.
It would have been best if Someone wouldn't have opened his mouth about it at least until there was enough research, which we still don't have. Mentioning it as being tested wouldn't have been bad. He mentioned others as well but he didn't tout them.

I think it's inaccurate enough that it falsely caused a stir in my state and cost the Governor a chance at meeting with the President. Instead he was relegated to answering calls on C-Span. I think they ought not waste time on it. The other test does not take 10 days. That's why we already know he passed it

Your winning involves so many injuries to the team they cant compete in future games.

We arent crossing a finish line once Covid is gone in 4 months, a year, or 5. Life keeps going. People have to be able to take care of themselves financially if you ever want things to get better. The longer you draw out the economic shutdown the longer the recovery is.

This isn't the Champsionship game of your senior year, where you leave it all on the field. This isnt even a championship game, and it certainly isnt senior year. Coach should look out for the collective team beyond one game.

And I dont know what sports you watch, but that is exactly when the bench warmers come out. No one risks the long term health of the starters trying to make a loss less embarassing.

You are creating the next crisis. You cant just pretend like now is the only time that matters. That's how we keep ending up in this mess. Trump was short sighted by not having more masks and not doing everything perfectly. Your solution, apparently, is to be short sighted and shut down the economy for indefinite amounts of time.

You're the one seemingly wanting to step over the dead bodies of your teammates just to open the concession stand.

Reason # 124,329 why Trump is a disaster...

And, of course, in the greatest of ironies, Trump's presidency hangs by a thread over the hopes of a vaccine. Vaccines, of course, that Trump has said in the past "cause autism".

I will not be vaccinating.

Health officials ramp up effort to convince public that vaccine decisions will be based on science, not politics
But Trump immediately undercut them by hinting a coronavirus vaccine might be available ‘right around’ Election Day.

Federal health officials, worried about shaky confidence in a possible coronavirus vaccine, launched a public campaign this week to try to reassure Americans that regulators won’t clear any vaccine that isn’t vetted for safety and effectiveness. But President Trump immediately demonstrated the difficulty of divorcing the issue from politics by asserting Thursday that a vaccine might be available “right around” Nov. 3, or Election Day.

Top Food and Drug Administration officials, in published articles and interviews, said they would approve a vaccine only after rigorous review and would consult an outside advisory committee — something that lawmakers and nongovernment scientists have been clamoring for. Agency officials insisted decisions will be based “solely on good science and data.” They got backup from Anthony S. Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious-disease expert, who told Reuters the FDA won’t be swayed by political considerations. He has said a vaccine might be ready by early next year.

But Trump, who has a history of leaning on, and sometimes abusing, government scientists, told Geraldo Rivera on Thursday, “I’m rushing it. I am. I’m pushing everybody.” He said he was focused on saving lives, not on winning the election.

A vaccine. Until that comes out, it's something we need to work through. The problem with shutdowns and quarantines is that the treatment is worse than the disease

That's nothing more than another nothing burger from the Trump hating media, in this case the WaPost.

Oh yeah? How so?

I mean, is in inaccurate because Trump is lying that there will be a vaccine prior to the election?

OR

Is it inaccurate because Trump is lying that he will pressure vaccine makers to rush the process?

In either case, of course, Trump is still a liar.

We'll have to wait and see what Kushner says about it. Can't let FDA politics impede Operation Warp Speed.

Kushner?!?

Was it not enough that he was told to solve the opioid crisis and achieve Middle East peace, inevitably failing at both?

One could point out the obvious for his appointment (nepotism) and his utter lack of qualification (none), but hey, MAGA!

Yes let us not forget that China has less than 5k deaths. Lel.

A lot of people are saying that he's the best man for the job. It's hard to argue against those credentials.

Or maybe they don’t want to get cancer or something else from a vaccine where the long term effects aren’t known.

Choose between (1) a virus that evidence is increasingly showing that it poses almost no risk to me, my wife, or my kids based on our health situation and lifestyle; or (2) a new vaccine that has been fast tracked for approval. I think I'll take my chances with door number 1 right now, thanks!

You are the one wanting the whole team hurt just so the score doesnt look so bad.

It's not just those that die that are having their lives ruined. And so far zero thought has gone to how it is impacting those tens of millions of others. It's not wrong or greedy, to say, hey what about these people?

The rest of the world wants a vaccine too, but they haven’t done as bad as we have. Again, we are the worst in the world, what would you suggest to improve upon that?
