Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Yesterday it was reported that Ohio Governor tested positive for C19. Today he tested negative. As I learned more about it, this doesn't surprise me. In reality he never had C19. His positive test was a bogus test. A Cin Reds baseball player was out for nearly a week because he tested positive on that "rapid test".

So here's my question: why .....

Don't ask why, assume all involved in all area's and levels of this are ignorant reactionary gumps.

That's the positivity I'm looking for. I assume you thought the same about the whole war on terror and muslums since 9/11 was way, way less.
So in this case you are ready to attack China/Europe for these deaths?

If you arent willing to follow thru on the logic why would you expect someone else too?

Uh, you are conflating some arguments here.

The argument is protect the at risk, and let the rest go back to normal so the economy can move on.

If you believe it's reasonable to lock down/quarantine/social distance on the general public why isnt it possible for the at risk?

Look at hospitals and ICUs or any real quarantine measures. You separate the sick/at risk so the rest can go on about their days without negatively impacting the sick/at risk.

You dont lock down the healthy or limit them beyond contact with the sick/at risk. Why wouldnt we apply that logic from the healthcare community to the nation at large?
Not at all. Let me put it on a continuum for you. On one side you have self and on the other you have society. When I say "We are in this together", "We" is society. When I hear "me" "my" and "I" that isn't "We"

But they will jump at the opportunity to take hydroxychloroquine not knowing the long term effects.

Well I wish they would not jump at the opportunity. I was diagnosed with lupus a month ago and having some crazy symptoms. My dr put me on hydroxychloroquine and had to jump thru hoops to get it for me. My insurance will only let me get 8 days worth of pills. Pharmacy will not autofill, so I have to call every 6 days to get it approved. Bull$hit

The politics of this has ruined everything. That is BS.

In a letter to the community, Superintendent Brian Otott said the photo was taken out of context, writing: "Class changes at the high school level are a challenge when maintaining a specific schedule. It is an area we are continuing to work on in this new environment to find practicable ways to further limit students from congregating. Students are in this hallway environment for just a brief period as they move to their next class. ... There is no question that the photo does not look good. ... Wearing a mask is a personal choice, and there is no practical way to enforce a mandate to wear them."

No practical way to enforce mask wearing, huh?

Let’s throw 14 year olds in jail.

Your we is made up of subsets that it makes zero sense to apply the same standards too. Why treat the healthy like they are sick? Why treat the at risk like they are healthy?

"We" can do different things.
"We" can be in this together by doing different things. Think of any team sport, there are multiple roles that get played, but each contributes to winning. Heck even the bench warmers and practice dummy's help, when it comes to game day they dont do anything, but it's because of them the team on the field succeeds.

The best "we" can do is let the whole team succeed by keeping those who arent ready or healthy on the side line. It doesnt help anyone to have players with broken limbs, or who cant breathe, out playing against the 1s.

So here's my question: why are we giving our governors an inaccurate test? What good is our testing system if a governor who's about to meet the President is given a worthless test? What sense does that make and what does that say about the quality of our tests? I think it raises all kinds of questions.

Gov DeWine spent pretty much all of yesterday answering questions over his being C19 positive since he could not see the President as he visited Ohio. In fact DeWine took the time to answer callers' question on C-Span. Throughout it all he answered in the context that he definitely had C19. OK, that was a mistake. He should have clarified that the test he took has a record of false positives and he won't know until later if he truly is positive.

Much more likely to be a false negative, from everything I've heard.

That is just stupid.

Winning would be controlling the spread of the virus, not running one of your bench warmers out on the field being down 50 points.

Lol. Oh Micky you really think we can control this thing don’t you? Just like we can control the climate right?

1. This is a test that dear leader repeatedly touts as “the best in the world”.
2. It’s not an inaccurate test, it’s just less accurate and quicker than the more accurate test that is taking 10 days to get back.

Your winning involves so many injuries to the team they cant compete in future games.

We arent crossing a finish line once Covid is gone in 4 months, a year, or 5. Life keeps going. People have to be able to take care of themselves financially if you ever want things to get better. The longer you draw out the economic shutdown the longer the recovery is.

This isn't the Champsionship game of your senior year, where you leave it all on the field. This isnt even a championship game, and it certainly isnt senior year. Coach should look out for the collective team beyond one game.

And I dont know what sports you watch, but that is exactly when the bench warmers come out. No one risks the long term health of the starters trying to make a loss less embarassing.

You are creating the next crisis. You cant just pretend like now is the only time that matters. That's how we keep ending up in this mess. Trump was short sighted by not having more masks and not doing everything perfectly. Your solution, apparently, is to be short sighted and shut down the economy for indefinite amounts of time.

Im good, is what it is. I will say that when Trump took HCL, I remember reading people with autoimmune diseases went into panic mode and I am a Trump supporter. I really didn’t think too much about it because I was undiagnosed at the time. A pharmacist friend said HCL was readily available Yet here we are, politics involved to get an easily attained drug. I have very mixed feelings at this juncture.

I think it's inaccurate enough that it falsely caused a stir in my state and cost the Governor a chance at meeting with the President. Instead he was relegated to answering calls on C-Span. I think they ought not waste time on it. The other test does not take 10 days. That's why we already know he passed it

For him it doesn’t take that long to get back, but for you it would.

Seems to me anyone can be a "Covid Update Generator". If you want to start a Twitter feed you can too
Yeah, anyone can talk about anything but he is a joke as a sports commentator, why would he be any better in a field in which he has no expertise?
