Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

So, their hospital is at 100%+ and COVID admissions has undoubtedly created the problem. They are having to use the ER where otherwise a person would be admitted. They are swamped and exhausted.

Doesn't surprise me that when someone gives a first-hand account you would just as soon crap on them and accuse them of lying (suspect wording), rather than say a kind word.

It really says a lot

👀 when someone gives first -hand accounts about Covid not being that bad in their hospital system or what is being used to treat the ones they/ she sees everyday , they aren’t crapped on ? Really ?

No it says more about you for getting excited about the information vs researching it.

Again, only 15% of those hospitalized have covid. And state hospitals at at 78% capacity and I'm also curious about that 15% and how many are in the hospital for other reasons and just happened to test positive.

Hospitals are ALWAYS chaos, there are ALWAYS nurse shortages and theyre always overworked this is nothing new due to covid. You just have a reason to use this reasoning now.

You just won't admit that you looked at the state data and accused them of lying about their situation. He/She stated 40% COVID patients in their hospital.

apologize or continue looking like you are now

Defend him if you want. I took issue with him calling someone a liar when they presented the situation in their hospital.

If someone says things are good in their hospital, who craps on that statement?

I'm done with both of you with this nonsense.

I didn’t defend anyone , I asked you a question . Either your memory is bad or you are really good with selective memory.

I was somehow supposed to figure out what the hell you were talking about? trying to put words in my mouth doesn't aid anyone's argument here.

There have been lots of half truths spoken in the last 5 months to promote fear

You made your own half-truth, when you compared their account to the statewide data, they were only speaking to their truth.

I see you got kiddiedoc to give you a like after you called this person a liar. This says quite a bit in itself.

No they were manipulating words to push their narrative. But I'll let you have the last word since you're the final word on all things covid.

It is amazing to me that all we here from some on here is let the science and facts speak for themselves, then when presented with the facts it is summarily dismissed for the anecdote because the anecdote fits the narrative they want to hear.

There was some dude in here in the beginning saying this same ****, they are overrun, he’s “on the front line of this thing” and there is a 7% mortality rate or whatever, etc...but the data simply doesn’t support that nonsense.

Perhaps there is a hospital in SC that is more busy than usual, ok. But the larger truth is pretty evident that if so, it is an outlier. The rest of the state seems to be getting better and better by the day.

nurses are over worked because hospitals have no clue how to schedule them (same with ER Drs) -- 12 or more hour shifts are stupid and alot of them quit because it

There is also a huge backlog of procedures that were cancelled during shutdowns.

Now that hospitals are allowing them you are going to be overwhelmed.

A few days ago, we were literally being told to go seek anecdotes from people actually treating the virus because the statistics were subject to revision and didn’t tell the whole story.

Somebody posts an anecdote that mirrors what I’ve been told by MD and NP friends and suddenly the “go get anecdotes” people are that are saying anecdotes are invalidated by the state numbers.

The hypocrisy goes both ways.

Scientists say the coronavirus is at least as deadly as the 1918 flu pandemic

The coronavirus is at least as deadly as the 1918 flu pandemic and the death toll could even be worse if world leaders and public health officials fail to adequately contain it, researchers warned in a study published Thursday in the medical journal JAMA Network Open.

“What we want people to know is that this has 1918 potential,” lead author Dr. Jeremy Faust said in an interview, adding the outbreak in New York was at least 70% as bad as the one in 1918 when doctors didn’t have ventilators or other advances to help save lives like they do today. “This is not something to just shrug off like the flu.”

Researchers compared excess deaths in New York City during the peak of the 1918 pandemic with those during the first few months of the Covid-19 outbreak. They used public data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the U.S. Census Bureau to conduct their analysis.

Great headline. BS.
