We're not the only country with money in the pot, though. The Wuhan lab is the international epicenter for this line of research because of its proximity to the cave systems where SARS family virii are thought to have originated and made the jump to humans. If finger pointing is going to happen, it's going to be a First World standoff with everyone pointing around the circle.

We get daily number and tracing emails from our kids' school system, and numbers have been ticking up slightly. We don't know of any hospitalized, though.

I was listening to some doctor last night (can't recall which or where) but he pointed out that the "natural" vs "man made" distinction is blurry and that man made doesn't necessarily mean it was "created" in the sense of gene-splicing or other invasive techniques. It could be more like selective breeding or put another way, taking natural mutations that make a virus more infectious and emphasizing them.

Put another way, what escaped from the lab (if that happened) might not be the virus as found in nature but it wasn't necessarily a franken-virus that was intentionally genetically modified. It could be the isolation and encouragement of mutations that change the nature of the virus.

I'm getting confused. There's overlap in the Venn Diagram of "It's not that bad, people are nuts" and "A deadly virus may have been intentionally leaked from a Chinese lab". I'm having to bend sanity a bit for those two ideas to exist in the same individuals.

It isnt that bad for most people under a certain age.

if there is verifiable evidence about the unique rarity of 4 polar positive amino acids in a row which strongly indicates engineering, that could be the "smoking gun".

My kid just got back from camp and they didnt require kids to have a EUA VACCINE.
