Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Not so. Simply coding a patient as Covid positive did nothing. The facility had to provide treatment, and the treatment would be reimbursed. If someone came in with severe food poisoning, the hospital couldn't code him as a Covid case and expect to get paid unless they were willing to treat the barfy dude for Covid.
You could go in for a knee replacement, test positive for Covid, and become a "hospitalized patient with Covid". The Covid isn't the reason you're there, and potentially not even an issue, but the Feds will pick up any associated costs with that diagnosis.

What costs of a knee replacement would be costs that could also be coded as treating Covid?

Pre op testing requires negative covid no more 6 days before surgery. I have seen a negative become a positive while in the hospital for recovery. In that case they go to step down or ICU depending on the surgery. In other words they are considered to contract it while in hospital.

Whatever codes CMS deems worthy. This is not some vast conspiracy, I don't think these facilities are doing anything wrong. The government said they'd cover the tab for those with corona, and they're just following through. Hospitals desperate for revenue after losing nonessential surgeries and outpatient treatments while trying to maintain staffing would be stupid not to explore every avenue to increase income.

But, if the knee replacement patient tests positive for Covid, but is asymptomatic, what is the hospital going to code as Covid-related? Just the bed? Food? Maybe pain killers? It's not like they can code the actual operation and expect the Feds to pay it back.

Scroll down to the bottom of page 17, more people died from the Delta variant that were vaccinated than weren't.

The bottom of page 17 is the continuation of a chart detailing the type of medical intervention received. The category at the bottom of page 17 is specifically those who died of the Delta variant but did not seek medical intervention, with the highest numbers being in the Older than 50 category.

Like scripture, you've got to read around the data you want to focus on in order to understand it.

Vaccinated people are less likely to die from the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2 compared to unvaccinated people; viral claim misinterpreted PHE report

Conclusion
The claim that people are more likely to die from the Delta variant if they have been vaccinated is false, as it ignores the fact that deaths from COVID-19 occur mainly in high-risk groups, which have a higher vaccine coverage than the general population. No vaccine offers perfect protection, meaning that some cases and deaths would still occur in the vaccinated population. But COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective at reducing both the risk of hospitalization and the risk of death from COVID-19, and have prevented tens of thousands of deaths in the U.K. alone, demonstrating that vaccination has greatly improved our situation in contrast to a time when no COVID-19 vaccine was available.

The VAERS site is maddening. People reporting Pfizer Covid vaccine given to people who died before 2020. People reporting symptoms that occurred before the vaccine was started in trials. We have about 3 million Americans die yearly and if you vaccinate a large portion of your elderly population it stands to reason that about 1-2 million will die regardless based on statistics. If you give 200 million a saline shot or a multivitamin you will have 200k die within a month of administering on average. Do not envy the people having to go through that data.
My niece died after getting the vaccine….. developed pneumonia

I dont think that conclusion is intellectually honest. It's true, but it's an argument of convenience rather than accepted protocol.

Never, not once, has distinction amongst deaths by age group been an acceptable determination on vaccination argument.

Also most of the unvaxxed who died are also probably of the same older age group. Unless their argument is: if you remove the older age group from both, the unvaxxed died more than the vaxxed. But I didnt see any numbers to support that stance. Instead they want to remove the older vaxxed, but keep the older unvaxxed.

And even if there was some disparity between older vaxxed vs older unvaxxed deaths as a subset of their total, there is still the issue of efficacy. The vaccine is supposed to work 90%ish, so unless the unbalance between vaxxed and unvaxxed is above 90% this isnt making a real distinction to throw out the numbers. As any difference on sheer number of vaxxed shouldnt offset the protection of the vaccine.

The UK is over 2/3 fully vaccinated. So, less than 1/2 of delta deaths have come out of greater than 2/3 of the population.

This is why I say that I trust the numbers, but I don't trust anyone that tries to tell me what they mean.
So the vaccine only reduces risk of death by what? Less than 1/3? That's a far cry from the 90% that has been pushed.

The only way they "should" be any where close to even is if it was 9vaxxed for 1 unvaxxed. Not 2 vs 1.

Tennessee is Number 1 for something…..
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -
TN hospitals, cases rose 45.7%. Knox County had a 79.5% rise in new active cases which totaled an additional 132
TN saw a 400 percent jump in new COVID-19 cases, making it #1 for Covid spread in the country.
Tennessee COVID-19 cases continue to rise

Has anyone seen the stats for unvaxxed but previously infected being hospitalized and/or dying from the D variant?

That's a good point, although we're talking about deaths from the delta variant, and the vaccines are not as effective against it.
Still, this requires a deeper dive into the numbers.

But there's more to it than that. 116 of the 118 fully-vaccinated individuals that passed were over 50, an age cohort wherein almost 85% of all Brits are vaccinated. Of the 92 unvaccinated individuals that passed, 71 were over 50. So in the most vulnerable age bracket, 38% of deaths came out of a little over 15% of the population.

Of the 23 deaths that came in people under 50 only 2 were fully-vaccinated, which would indicate that in the least vulnerable age cohort the vaccines are quite effective at warding off death, even from the delta variant.
