Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

McSon1, 19 yoa, diagnosed with Covid today. He's been feeling crummy past 4 days. Headache, minor aches, fatigue. No fever. No loss of taste or smell. Neither McMom nor me are vaccinated. This will be an interesting 10 days.

I hope for the best, my friend.

Would a personal physician turn this request down even if you didnt have risk factors?
You have to meet criteria, and there's a strict order/inclusion form.

12 y/o+ c BMI >85%ile for age, sickle cell, heart disease, asthma, or neurodevelopmental disease.

Adults c BMI >35, diabetes, kidney disease, or immunocompromised

>55 y c htn, heart dz, or COPD

Anyone over 65

Seems too restrictive. Is supply low or the treatment has too much danger to just be giving to otherwise healthy people?

It's quite safe, and I don't think it's in short supply. It's expensive, though (although it's covered but the state everywhere, as far as I know)

some useful analysis here

The Provincetown Outbreak Shows Vaccinated People Can Be Infected by the Coronavirus, but the CDC's Director Grossly Exaggerates That Risk

and a troubling lack of understanding or precision from the CDC head.

""Every 20 vaccinated people, one or two of them could get a breakthrough infection," Walensky told CNN's John Berman. That statement, which implies that 5 to 10 percent of vaccinated people will catch COVID-19, grossly exaggerates the odds of a breakthrough infection. Walensky seems to have misconstrued the meaning of the effectiveness rates reported in vaccine studies, which is a pretty serious mistake for the head of the CDC to make.""

considering by confirmed case count only 10% the US has had Covid it's nuts for the CDC Director to imply 5 - 10% of vaccinated people could get Covid.

Played for suckers. AFAIAC,,,a global power play.
They have been locking millions of people down off and on for almost two years. Numerous articles on it. You just aren't looking. This is from January. Almost 20 million people locked down. And let's not pretend we lockdown like they lockdown.

Not sure I can believe the MSM anymore regardless of suppossed politcal slant. I dont have a sub, but even in what I could read:

"On Tuesday, China’s National Health Commission reported 42 new cases of locally transmitted symptomatic infection, a day after recording 85 such cases—its highest daily count in six months."

42 cases in Jan 2021 in a city of millions makes this baloney. But at the same time the WSJ and NBC have lied to us.

I will believer China's actions not press releases. Locking down 20 million people tells me all I need to know
