I agree with you. I've seen ample nuttiness on both ends of the spectrum. Some of the concern may be well founded. What is concerning is the complete lack of rational thought being put into some of these mandates. I've been in a couple of states and a territory in the past few weeks where people are flat out nutty.
I had a couple of great vacations and I'm all for a return to normal with masks being optional, but that is being complicated by the ridiculous number of anti-vaxxers.So Luther, how has your all expenses paid vacation on the taxpayers back been? Are you holding out for better mask mandates before you do your job that you're paid to do?
I would say the likelihood of someone local to you caring about you is far more likely than someone in Washington DC.I've got a return hint for you. Many are actually concerned about us, especially on my local lever.
The CDC has already said immunocompromised people who are vaccinated are basically unprotected. That's encouraging.Just heard from one of my specialists at UT Med who helped save my life in 2013. They've been told by hospital admin to "hold on to their asses" as their rate of fill in the ICU and Covid ICU are increasing noticeably.
This doctor also said that none of the dialysis patients who received the vaccine are producing antibodies. Their weakened immune systems combined with the dialysis treatmemts prevented their bodies from reacting to the vaccine and producing antibodies.
4/7 hospitalized were fully vaxed. Or 57% whichever you preferSo the CDC is pushing for mask mandates over a single scenario in Cape Cod where nobody died and there were only 7 hospitalizations out of 882 people infected where 74% of the folks were vaccinated.
So 882-(882x.74) is 229 so all 7 of the hospitalizations could have easily been unvaccinated.
This is an incredibly weak case for making vaccinated people wear masks.
Deaths are flat, and at a very low rate. We just came out of a very heavily traveled holiday, our own government is moving illegal and untested migrants all over the country, why wouldn't we expect the number of cases to go up. I know a year ago most of the ICU beds were full (not all) of Covid but typically what percentage of beds are full at this time of year anyway? I know years ago when I worked in a hospital, the ICU had high capacity from a wide range of maladies.Bottom line...kids don't spread the disease and over 73% of adults have been vaccinated in the US with 40-50 million already having immunity from COVID infection...there aren't enough unvaccinated adults to account for the rise in Delta cases imo...the vaccines don't work as well as projected but they can't say that then unvaccinated won't bother and vaccinated might be reluctant to get the 3rd one
Less then 26% effective rate in vax. But its unvaxed fault not a rush ajd untested vax...riiiiight
