Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Careful putting words in my mouth. Not a good thing to do.

You conversation centers on matters of self. For some people, their children choose to mask up for others. Maybe they have an immunocompromised student in their class. Or a family member at home.

To think of others is strength. It should be a choice, yes. But I stand by my assertion:

The offer still stands if you would like to see video representations of aerosol transmissions.
What words did I put in your mouth? The conversation revolved around masking kids and people’s reaction to that. If a
parent’s want to mask their kid for whatever reason, again, perfectly fine; because it’s voluntary. That’s the only thing up for debate, voluntary vs. mandated. The exception of a mandate doesn’t exclude one from still voluntarily wearing one.

There’s probably close to an equal amount of mask mandated school districts as there are no mask mandated ones in the country. So within the next 90 days we should know their effectiveness and be able to put this debate to rest.
Or, you could just look at the ones from last year.

Wait are you back on the mask kick again? You admitted 2 pages back that they don't work and we need to buy all the K-5 N95s
Apparently, they only work in the least vulnerable population, none of whom wear them appropriately and are constantly pulling them on and off, dropping them on the floor, and trading them.

I just wish I had some way to observe first-hand what happens in several large school systems with and without mask mandates over an entire academic year. . .
Ah, that old scientific rigor of anecdotal observations used to counter the various studies looking at the efficacy--and finding various degrees of efficacy--of mask wearing.

One of the doctors here who supports the mask mandate said for the first time ever they are seeing kids transmit the virus. Pepperidge Farm remembers when the kids were killing grandma and all the teachers.

Direct observation, collecting data over time, drawing conclusions . . . very "unscientific," unless you are a student of the long-refuted Scientific Method.

Wanna summarize your sample size and methodology and compare your work to theirs?

How do we know that masking helps prevent spread among unvaccinated people in schools? In July 2020, we and our colleagues developed the ABC Science Collaborative to pair scientists with school and community leaders to make sure that school leaders had the most up-to-date, scientific information pertaining to Covid-19 and K-12 schools. In conjunction with North Carolina, the ABC Science Collaborative collected data from more than one million students and staff members in the state’s schools from March to June 2021. Certain school districts in North Carolina were required, by bipartisan legislation, to submit infection data to the ABC Science Collaborative as a trusted third party.

During that time, more than 7,000 children and adults acquired the coronavirus and attended school while infectious. Because of close contact with those cases, more than 40,000 people required quarantine. Through contact tracing and testing, however, we found only 363 additional children and adults acquired the coronavirus. We believe this low rate of transmission occurred because of the mask-on-mask school environment: Both the infected person and the close contact wore masks. Schools provided this protection without expensive screening tests for the coronavirus or massive overhauls in ventilation systems.

Because North Carolina had a mask mandate for all K-12 schools, we could not compare masked schools to unmasked schools. To understand the preventive impact masks can have, we looked outside North Carolina for comparisons. Data from our research and from studies conducted in Utah, Missouri and Wisconsin shows that school transmission rates of coronavirus were low when schools enforced mask mandates. By contrast, one school in Israel without a mask mandate or proper social distancing protocols reported an outbreak of Covid-19 involving 153 students and 25 staff members.

Pretty sure one school half a world away as a comparative data point does not qualify as scientific. There's counties next door to each other here that showed no comparable differences.

Inside the Reality of Biden's Border Crisis: Shocking Video Shows Women and Children Crammed into an Overcrowded Rio Grande Valley facility amid Widespread COVID Concerns and with illegal crossings at record highs

  • Video taken by a border agent show a facility with massive overcrowding where women and children lay packed together – some without masks
  • The images emerge as reports reveal thousands of COVID-POSITIVE migrants have been transported and Released Into Local Communities
New video taken by border patrol agents show a border holding facility with massive overcrowding where migrants lay packed together – some not wearing masks.

'They are way past capacity – so aliens sit outside because where do you take them?' a source told Townhall Media in sharing the jarring images.

'This has surpassed the point of sustainability – this is lunacy,' the border agent added.

It is now known that migrants do not have to obtain a negative COVID test before they are transported from the border and released into local communities. Reports reveal that thousands of COVID-positive migrants are spreading the disease in U.S. cities.

A Washington Examiner report last week revealed that more than 1,500 migrants released into the border town of McAllen, Texas in the last week of July tested positive for coronavirus over a seven-day period.

The second link supplied uses the wording of “non-medical masks” and “cloth masks” as types of masks that reduce aerosol droplets and spread. Didn’t Dr. Osterholm, Biden’s top Covid advisor just say last week that cloth masks don’t work? Yes, indeed he did.

“And if I could just add a nuance to that, which hopefully doesn’t add more confusion, we know today that many of the face cloth coverings people wear are not very effective in reducing any of the virus movement in or out. Either you’re breathing out or you’re breathing in.”

Which is it? Do the non-medical/cloth masks work or not? The “experts” can’t get their talking points in line with each other.

Fauci started this problem. You can not be the face of this pandemic, from a medical perspective, and lie. I don't care your intentions. It's a fireable offense. Trump and Biden have dropped the ball with this guy. You don't get to lie to me bc you have good "intentions."

A. Piece. Of. Cloth. Over the face. And this is the reaction.

Always keep on the right side of history Tennessee. You got such a long history of it.

I wonder how much of this is due to Clay Travis whipping his knuckle-dragger followers into a frenzy for this meeting.

But what’s the point of that piece of cloth? It was originally to slow the spread so the healthcare system isn’t overwhelmed. Supposedly the vaccine does that, even with only half the population vaccinated so why the masks? We already know that almost everyone wears paper and cloth masks and they aren’t worn properly, washed regularly, and are constantly being messed with, pulled down, and more. So why are masks needed now?
