Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

That’s debatable I’ll leave it at that. I don’t recall hearing about variants until fairly recently. However, I’ll take your word for it.

I don’t think there’s any debate about vaccines working in the near term. My issue is long term effects and continual need for booster shots. Just saw a news headline that states they are recommending a 3rd booster shot now? Where’s it going to end?

If a 3rd booster shot is needed after getting 2 shots a few months earlier, will that mean a 4th shot will be needed in december?

My personal, non-professional opinion is that we're going to see COVID become endemic and we'll have the option of an annual shot like we do for the flu.

I am scheduling my third shot as i am immunocompromised. That means my booster, if it comes to it, will be shot #4. I'm not necessarily a fan of being a human pincushion, but it beats the alternative for me.

Dr. Vin Gupta and others are now saying the best thing globally is for the US to back off on talk of boosters and focus on vaccinating countries that have not had a rollout yet. Getting as many third world countries vaccinated as possible may even slow things down enough that a booster might no longer be part of the conversation.

If the pic of the quote from m4v earlier from the good Dr Gupta is accurate I’d suggest you don’t propagate that bastards rhetoric.

What throws up a red flag to me is all of the censorship regarding alternative medications. True science is all about challenging the status quo. That’s not what’s going on. There also seems to be a concerted effort to vax the general population. I trust the Taliban more than Bill Gates who is behind Moderna. Something just seems off. What ever happened to “my body, my choice “?

I completely disagree with what that graphic says. We're very much in the same page with that.

When I searched his name, though, the graphic was nowhere in sight and the second hit was the comment about global rollout. The first hit was saying he isn't related to Sanjay Gupta.

They are two separate Drs. This guy is a paid NBC News contributor. Another asshat dropped a link with his tweets in it where he was getting a little schadenfreude in with Abbott’s situation he appears to be a statist bastard with a political agenda to me.

I understand and sympathize with where you're coming from. I was there at one point.

We have to consider the possibility that there is no global conspiracy to hide information about alternative medications. The most reputable hospitals in the world with the longest research credentials and the highest positive health outcomes for their patients would be all over treatments that would keep people out of their ICUs.

That the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins, Oschner Foundation, and Cedars Sinai aren't loading their patients up with these prophylactics should send a strong message to those wondering about the efficacy of prophylactics. My doctor at the Cleveland Clinic put me on 5000IUs of Vitamin D and told me to carry around hand sanitizer, that's it. That's knowing I'm immunocompromised.

I understand your frustration. I really do. But I don't think things are as nefarious as you believe they are. Sometimes reality is just disappointing.

Joy. Common names from other countries. Sorry for the mix-up.

I’ve mentioned before on the forum that I have 90+ year old in-laws that contracted Covid and were really starting to degrade in health. Their doctor is one of the few that believe it alt meds. He prescribed them HCQ along with steroids. They had a turn around and fully recovered. I’m not convinced that the science is settled with drugs such as HCQ and Ivermectin. Too many success stories…

This shoots to hell what we were told from the beginning:

No one has any natural defenses to C19

I am not buying it other than they are cousins. Getting a cold does not prevent you from getting another cold as there are so many variants.
Just looked it up, there are 200 common cold variants.
Could you imagine having to cycle thru 200 variants of COVID-19?

I have said in the beginning this thing is related to the common cold which there is no cure. Just what makes it insidiuos enough to shut down nations without being too deadly.

I am basically talking out of my arse, but just trying to follow some logic.

Exactly. Don’t understand why drug companies would want to hide drugs that could work. If tomorrow it was announced that the fda was granting eua status for ivermectin the price of the drug would skyrocket. These drug companies make a killing already off of many generic drugs and ivermectin would be no different. It wouldn’t hurt any of these companies. Vaccines would still be recommended to almost everyone like they are now. Remdesivir would still be given to hospitalized patients and same with other drugs with EUAs for covid. Also if there was a conspiracy by drug companies to not have cheap drugs be used against covid then they failed because dexamethasone and other steroids are first line treatment for severe disease.

We have 1 covid pt who was just made a dnr. BMI 60. People in the elevator ask my why the hospital is so busy. “ well, it’s not covid “ they physically looked relieved.
I didn’t mention the 4 overdoses, 2 dying from cancer, 5 people found down and unresponsive from not taking medications. So glad we saved so many from covid so I could take care of the fallout.

About people being happy Person X has become ill or tested positive for Covid, I hope none of those people claim Christ because such a mindset is the antithesis of a renewed heart.
That kind of thinking bewilders me. To wish harm on others because of political games.

HCQ and Ivermectin are generic so there is no money it them for the pharmaceutical companies.

Science is never settled. That's both the beautiful and the ugly thing about science. I'm glad that your in-laws fully recovered.
