I agree with your sentiment. I don’t know if ivermectin will be the panacea some claim but I find it troubling that any questioning of alternatives is immediately shot down. This whole episode feels like gaslighting from 360 degrees.

Half truth. They took these measures on their own, but ask yourself, what forced them to have to go in this direction in the first place? Why won't (or can't) doctors prescribe it?

1)large central govt w deficit

2)state interference in market economy with planned economy in practice

3)informal or formal imperialism

4)militarism

5) dictator or cult of personality

We’ve got 4 of these sown up. We’re getting dangerously close to number 5 IMO. The 2 presidents before Biden had some aspect of a cult of personality but were limited in the power they could weld.
