Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

You quoted my post, said "Exactly," and still proceeded to misrepresent the rules in question. I know you're not illiterate, so quit being intellectually dishonest.

I wouldn't be okay with the situation you're railing against. But given that you're railing against a dystopian fantasy of your own making, it doesn't really matter if anyone is okay with it or not.

How am I being dishonest in anyway. I you choose to travel to HI and refuse to disclose your medical history you are placed under house arrest (quarantine).

If HI can demand visitors (and I'm only talking about US citizens) to disclose their medical history any state can do the same for any medical condition.

That's just as accurate as the way I phrased it and I'm ok with that as long as other states are not barred from enacting whatever arbitrary requirements for visitors they choose.
I don't think it is as accurate. I am emphasizing the guidelines expected prior to travel. You're emphasizing the guidelines enacted after the expected prior-to-travel- guidelines are violated.

Do you have an example of a hypothetical concomitant guideline another state could specify which would rub the other side the wrong way?

No they can’t. They basing pandemic protocols off CDC/federal guidelines and choosing locally as a state to enact them

Proof of stable mental health, a flu test within 72 hours of visiting or proof of vaccination, proof of measles vaccination ext ext.

KCS freaking out over cases and wanting to vote on masks again.

Total active cases have dropped by 25% since last week.

That was my guess, huge spike at first with so many kids gathered together for the first time in over a year. Quick spread and then quick drop. I was thinking 3 or 4 weeks before the drop kicked in. Will see if this continues.

Don't they require visitors to quarantine if they can't show proof of negative test or vaccination?

I thought you were talking about Hawaiians. Now I get it.

I see another parallel here at play. I would say Trump's travel ban is more problematic than this. Hawaii is using their sovereignty to say "we're scared so you can only come here if you comply with these specific rules that anybody can comply with if they really want to come here."

Trump's travel ban was using our sovereignty to say "We're scared so you can't come here at all if you are from these countries."

What if:
Alaska required proof on Hunter Safety Course, Carry Permit from state of residence, and mandated carrying of firearm to protect against wildlife attacks while visiting?

But at no point are you forced to hand over your records. If you are unable or unwilling to disclose your vaccine status or proof of a negative test, you are required to quarantine for 10 days. After those 10 days you are free to go about your business, and you won't be asked again until you leave Hawaii and once again return.

Depending on how they go about it, they probably can.

This is why you are a statist. Once you give them the power to do this it will be used again and again.
They’ve had this power. It’s legal and nothing new. It’s local officials elected by the citizens who overwhelmingly support it. That’s how government is supposed to work

But it's nowhere near the same sine foreign nationals do not have the right to travel to the US. Since this country was founded citizens have been free to travel between states without papers.

Alaska should be able to do all of the above since HI is doing what they are doing.

Local/state governments can trump the constitution (as it's been interpreted by SCOTUS in regards to interstate commerce)?

If you are talking about legality, then yes, it's not the same. If you are talking about what ought to be in terms of freedom and state sovereignty (which is what I am talking about), then it's worse.

They actually had more kids in school on Monday with that stupid “sit out” occurring. These marxists severely over-estimate their numbers in Knox County.0

We'll have to disagree on the premise foreigners not on US soil are not covered by the constitution.

There is no ICC on foreign travel. Only domestic.

Again, you should focus on the Privileges and Immunities Clause, not the ICC. I think an argument relying on the ICC would be unavailing.
