Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

My God man almost everything companies require an employee to wear is required by OSHA. Do you actually think that companies have some evil director of PPE that sits back and demands another layer of protection that they have to pay for?
Not for office jobs. My khakis make my butt look great but do nothing for safety

Good luck finding everything you want in a candidate. I agree with you in getting gov't out of it but Rand Paul is not going to be an option
I haven't had any success finding the top 2 or 3 things on my list in a candidate. Using the "everything you want" jab is lazy and silly.

How do you know they have nothing to do with safety? Have you researched their safety records and determined that they just make stuff up? How do you know someone didn't die because they fell off of a truck and cracked a skull while wearing a ball cap instead of a hard hat?

I don’t think office workers that are required to wear collared shirts is due to some safety issue. It’s managements preference.

Sorry, but a mask is different than long sleeved shirts or long pants. I worked in a place that if you came waltzing in and wore sandals and a wife beater, you were going home burned or injured in some way. Wearing a cloth covering over your face does nothing at all for a person's safety.
I wonder if it'll apply to surgeons?

Come on. Don't go Luther on us.
I have a pretty pragmatic approach to the world and I really am sick of authoritarian views like yours. You seem to be from a very centric world view that he who makes the money makes the rules viewpoint. Sorry, but I don't share your view.

You seem to have the view that someone has a right to a job. They don't. Dont like the rule work for someone else. Lots of rules I don't care for at work. But the good vastly outweighs the bad.
To put it another way, if my company ever instituted a rule that I felt the government needed to overturn, I would already be looking for another job.

I knew I never had a right to a job, but I lived under the threat of "I'll fire your ass" rules for a lot of years. Now I don't live under those rules and I can say anything I want whenever I want.

Should a company be allowed to mandate a uniform or standard of dress?

Of course they should. A mask though impedes airflow to a person, so defend that?
So does a tie for some people. Get a mask that fits and you forget it's there

And you now agree that a business had the right to require certain behavior from its employees. We're just arguing about the continuum at this point

I'm the opposite of authoritarian. If I was authoritarian I would have a strict dress code for the office, mine is simple. If I can't see your private parts you're good.

No, he is protecting the individual from foolish mandates that don't work. Wish he was my governor and my wife might still have her job.

To sit here and act like Desantis not allowing mandates and supporting freedom for the individual is the same as Biden trying to force vaccinate everyone is foolishness.
Bass - Desantis issuing counter-mandates is just another flavor of the Government telling us what to do.

Sorry man, I don't see your view as being anything other than the "my rules, my way" mantra.

You need to have your eyes checked.

I absolutely disagree with employers requiring a vaccine or the wearing of a mask (for covid purposes) but I 100% support their rights to do so. Just because I disagree doesn't mean we should have the .gov step in.
