We blew by 15% a year ago. The way commodity prices continue to climb coupled with ongoing supply chain and availability issues, another 15% is almost a certainty.

They fudge, but you cannot fudge and deny to the point of reality. But not sure we are not already there. Few point difference is debatable and non proven and anecdotal.. Start getting to double digits even the lies hold no water.

No report? I expected the Covid propaganda brigade to make an appearance and show me the two week report based on science on why masks were still needed on airliners.

I mean, they needed two more weeks to study it. Shouldn't the findings be easy to release to the public if it was such a big deal and well studied.

Right?

I had some time to kill in one of the airports. I counted mask vs no mask.

1 - sampled every fifth person coming down the moving sidewalk. 400 total people, 80 observations. Skipped anyone who looked like airport employees. 32% masked.

2 - three separate waiting areas. Total people in each varies from ~20 to as many as ~50. Results were from 18% - 26%

I think the first method probably gets closer to the real number, because in the sitting areas you had people eating, chatting, and talking on the phone. Also, I noticed some of the masked people were avoiding the crowds.

In Washington, DC it was a different story. I didn’t have the opportunity to do the same type of survey, but it looked closer to 50%. On the Metro in the morning, I would say closer to 90%. I got several nasty stares.

Maybe the people who wrote this live in the DC bubble.

The government thinks that admitting failure with their original zero covid strategy would threaten their grip on power, since the CCP has never admitted failure on any policy since Mao took over. But I thought continued insane lockdowns with millions trapped in their high rise apartment would push them toward unrest against the CCP. But im ignorant of Chinese culture so I might be wrong

New York COVID-19 hospitalizations nearly triple in past month

COVID-19 hospitalizations in New York almost tripled in the past month as figures exceeded 2,000 on Tuesday.

The spike in hospitalized COVID-19 patients, which was first reported by NBC New York, marked the first time since late February that the state’s COVID-19 hospitalizations were over 2,000. The latest figures showed a 153 percent increase from this time last month.

A COVID-19 update from New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) on Wednesday said that the state had 2,119 total hospitalizations, which is still well below numbers seen when the omicron variant contributed to a major uptick in infections and nearly 13,000 hospitalizations in the state earlier this year.
