Health experts are Quitting the NIH and CDC in Droves because they're Embarrassed by 'bad science' - including vaccinating children under 5 to 'make their advice palatable to the White House', doctors claim

Two of America's top health agencies are reportedly hemorrhaging staff as poor decision-making, described by staff as 'bad science,' has led to low morale.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) are both suffering staff shortages, according to Dr. Marty Makary, a top public-health expert at Johns Hopkins University, writes at Common Sense, the Substack publication run by former New York Times columnist, Bari Weiss.

Major decisions made by the agencies that hurt morale included support for masking in schools, school closures during the pandemic and the authorization of COVID-19 vaccines for children four and under.

It was more "no science" than "bad science". It was 100% liberal politics.

Yes, this one is so bad that most people don't even realize they have it. Total hospitalized inpatients are actually fewer than the number of patients on ventilators during the initial and delta surges. Next to nobody in the ICU with it.
This is what I’m seeing also. I call it incidental covid findings.
We are seeing normal life here again and families congregating for get togethers. So much for hype.

My neighbors son got diagnosed with corona. Thing is, they didn't even test him. He went for what they think is a sinus infection, no cough, fever, etc. His mom said the Dr immediately started calling it COVID, but said there was no need to test, just go home and everyone quarantine. This is why I have a problem with it all, some want it to be corona so bad they won't even test to rule it out. Kid is fine, probably has a sinus infection, but now they have to quarantine because they went to the company Dr.

I currently have the rona. I know it’s different for everyone but I’ve had colds that were worse. Much rather have this than the flu. Losing my taste does kind of suck though.

The flu kicks my ass more than delta did. Not vaxxed either. It is different for everyone. I think they key is activity. Eat decent, exercise. Don't have to be the rock but get some activity in.

Do what my wife and I did.... drink all the wine in the house that you think might be going bad. :)

Get well soon.

Yep my parents are in great shape early fifties still run 5k’s lift weights etc. not vaccinated and delta kicked their a** last year. Bed ridden for days, fever, whole body shakes. A couple days in they were worried if they were gonna make it or not. Now they can definitely see how so many people died from it.

Always bothered me that we were told to stay in doors. People should of been outside getting fresh air.

I totally get you. A lady I work with her mom just went to the doctor. Her mom has seasonal allergies and so she has a runny nose nothing else. The doctor wouldn't even see her, they wanted her to walk back out to her car, drive around back where someone would come through a door, test her, then she was supposed to wait in her car until the test came back negative and then go back in sign in and be seen. She left and said ill go find another doctor.

The taste thing was weird, but I didnt mind. Losing smell bothered me more for some reason.

That's the weird thing about it though. Best outcomes I've seen were people who were active, went outside, didn't eat a bunch of crap, etc.

So work update. 3 ended up testing positive for COVID. 1 is back the other 2 should test this weekend and be back Monday. For all of them it was basically the flu. The worst symptom one had was loss of taste/smell but she's been going through that with some other stuff so it's not a huge deal for her. So once again a lot of hub bub about nothing

I did lose smell for a day or two but it seems to be coming back. Taste is still a little wacky though.
I think it was about a week I had those type of symptoms.

The first couple days was just smell being gone, then taste went, smell came back, and taste lingered gone for a while. Just long enough I was starting to buy just healthy foods, of course I got my taste back when it came time to get the healthy stuff. Bleh.
