The COVID-19 funding in Roanoke, VA went almost entirely to a non-profit "task force" headed by a flamingly gay "minister" that happens to sit on the council. Said task force was told to help the city understand violent crime (after said city began funding needle programs, cut police pay, and indirectly told officers not to punish small crimes at the behest of a group that wanted to go so far as to decriminalize theft).D.C. Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is using federal funding from the American Rescue Plan Act to open a homeless shelter for individuals who "identify as LGBTQ+ in the District.
