It's a control issue now for China. If they change their No Covid policy before Covid is gone, they admit they were wrong in locking down. If they dont lift their no Covid Policy but Covid still hits them hard, then they were wrong about that policy.
In a normal country neither should be a big deal, changing science and all that. But china is built on the State's authority, and a good chunk of that relies on them being correct. They were facing massive internal protests, and had to censor entire states it was so bad. And those issues havent gone away. So you add in Covid lock down failure on to the preexisting voting/history/minority abuse, and they are facing even bigger protests.
We’ve seen that here in all levels of government, the difference is in the people.
