Yep.
Altho this will be debated hundreds of times between now and september.
I remember when Bray shined against weak competition the last 4 games of his freshman season. But when people pointed out that he did it against bad comp folks didn't wanna hear it. Worley didn't have that luxery as he was thrown into the fire against the best teams in the nation as a freshman. And that's the only memory people have of him. I think that's gonna help him now.
IMO alot of that was coach Chaney's system. The goal every time we got the ball was score and score quickly. Thats alot to put on a young inexperienced qb....esp against a top 10 D. Would like to see some ball controll this year.
Ball control...the key to success in Eugene Oregon. If we try to score with them and stop them with our D we will get smashed IMO. But our o-line has the ability to completely dominate a game...this game in particular. I don't think Oregon's defensive front would rank in the top 4-5 in the SEC. We need to play smash mouth and let the play lock run and we can beat them dudes. Keep the ball and hope for our D to make a big play or two, rather than shut them down.
Sorry, back to Worley...
That is Worley. I agree we need to go back to smash mouth football and we need Justin to be a game manager. No mistakes, get everybody lined up right, make the audibles, and take care of the football. Thro in making a play or three at the right time is all we should ask...or need.
I've got this sneaky suspicion that dudes a winner. I'm not sure I see him putting up Bray/Manning numbers. I could see Clausen type numbers with wins, JMO. You know, the 14-24 220 yds 2td 1int type numbers. I could be completely wrong. I wonder what everyone's view of Worley would be if DaRick catches that 1st half long bomb against SC two years ago. They very well could have won that game.
I like that suspicion.
Tried to forget that drop...that game...that dang season.
One thing we can take away from it tho is that Justin does throw a pretty long ball. You would hope that we can find one, out of our dozen or so 4 star wr's, that can learn to catch those.
Am not advocating for any one of these guys; it will all get sorted out by folks more knowledgeable than me.
But I have no great problem with them throwing some picks in spring practice. This is a time to attempt things and to get a better feel for what can and can't be done. Mistakes are learning opportunities, and if they can get some of them out of their systems now, then better now than later.
I like that suspicion.

He threw the ball where he was supposed to throw it, when he was supposed to throw it. The ball went where it was supposed to go and got there when it was supposed to get there. Isn't that what QBs are supposed to do?
He through one in the Vandy game about 25 yards into the left corner of the end zone for a sure touchdown that hit Hunter square in the face mask, which of course he didn't catch. It reminded me of Worley throwing a bomb against So. Carolina the year before, that hit Da'Rick right in the hands, which of course, he also dropped. Worley has skills. You'll see if you give him a chance.
Two qb system IMO. Takes advantage of Worleys experience and pro-style, uses Peterman's dual-threat.
