I have no idea who will end up being the guy in the fall, but isn't the passing game in Butch's offense somewhat similar to what Worley ran in high school? I feel like Worley may be a bit better suited to this offense than the long ball offense we've ran the past few years. Not that his arm isn't powerful enough to throw the long ball. I just think that an offense focusing on more short precision passes and intermediate passes may be a bit more in his comfort zone.
They need to get better at reciever or it won't matter who's throwing the ball!
Honestly I'm not too worried about our WRs. Sure, we have a glaring lack of experience there, but we have some talented guys at te position. And we'll only add to that in the summer and fall. I can't help feeling like Butch and coach Z will be able to put 3 solid starters on the field with one or two more rotational contributors.
Maybe I should be more concerned, but this group reminds of me of our OL a few years back: it should be young and inexperienced with plenty of natural talent. Hopefully butch can coach them up better than Dooley I'd though.
Crompton says that amazing things happen when you have a coach who knows how to coach up a QB.
I notice that during practices, NP is throwing more interceptions than Worley. I'm sure we want our QB to throw to our receivers and not defensive players on the other team.
NP will and is getting better because he has a coach that's going to make him better. So too is it with Worley who has a tad bit more game experience and is dead set on having his chance as starter. He will be working under a unified and consistent system which boosts confidence because you know what your coach(es) want done game by game, play by play. You're going to see exactly why he was Gatorade player of the year. You might even stop badmouthing him as a result. Just maybe.
Bray had no coaching up just like Worely, but his spark and talent was evident as soon as he took the field against SC...i haven't seen anything to wow me like that yet about Worely......and ofcourse he is throwing fewer pics so far...Peterman has zero experience...
I will keep an open mind on Worely, but i really think Peterman has more talent from what i have seen...and i am really stoked about Dobbs. I just can't help but View Worely as a long term game manager...and HS stats do little to impress me.
Yeah, Bray was never coached up.......
We went 7-5 5-7 5-7 under Dooley.....
IN THE SEC and playing Bama every year.
Dooley wasn't a great coach, but he could coach...
I guess the Cowboys were like "Yeah, He can't coach. I know, lets hire him."

Not trying to be a Worley hater(I hope he does good especially if he starts) but anyone that wants to use the vandy game as proof of how good Worley was, please go back and watch the game and tell me when he throws a pass over 5 yards

There WILL be downs where everyone on the OL is covered. It's nice to have a QB who can run when the passing option is no longer available. Even if he gets only 3 yards that's better than 0.
