Lawrence Frank - Boston Celtics Assistant

That wasn't the discussion. It was him saying yes but not coming here until the playoffs were over.
But since you ask why would you want a guy who is short timer and why would you settle for a short timer? Volfans said we can get great coach and here is a list of positives then why settle for someone who would use us as a stepping stone? VFL baby..

Having Frank as our coach isn't settling even if it is short term. Who cares about a "VFL"? as long as games get won it doesn't matter.

Tons of stuff. Like coaching macaroni games.

We'll just have him report in when he is ready and request it to be at least by oct 1st that should be fine. We've gone from we can get anybody we want if we throw enough money at them to just show when your done with your real job. VFL when you feel like it.

This quote from Rivers indicates that he and Frank have at least talked about the possibility.

“I think Lawrence is a great coach and I think he would be terrific in a college atmosphere,” Rivers said. “I told Lawrence I thought he would struggle in the living rooms with moms, but other than that, he’d be pretty good. I want all my assistants to get jobs, so that would be good.”

I feel like I follow the NBA fairly closely and Thibs would not leave the Bulls. Also, I believe I've said it before, I want Frank to be the hire. Bad. This would be a great birthday present if Haslam and company can make this happen by Monday.

Frank could accept the job at UT and still help get the Celtics to the championship. You don't think it's possible to recruit and still coach at the same time? Very possible. All he has to do is assemble a staff who can hit the road, make calls, and steal, i mean get committs :)

To me it sounds like he's doing a lot more than consulting for UT. And if none of this had some sort of truth to it and if he wasn't considering the job, he would for sure say something.

Don't know anything about Frank but Doc Rivers, a former San Antonio Spur, learned from one of the best defensive coaches in the business, Greg Popovich and we know the Spurs have won 4 NBA titles behind him so far. The Spurs also have the best record in the NBA this year. Although we all like an offensive show, defense wins championships. From what I've seen, he looks like the best choice so far.

Has anyone really seen Lawrence Frank coach? I would think uit could be a good hire just because of NBA roots, but Tim Floyd didn't exactly light it up at USC, and there were guys being paid while he was there. If he does become our coach, let's not annoint him before we know anything about him.

Only for 4+ years with the Nets when they made deep runs in the Eastern Conference playoffs. He is a smart coach.

He had a really good stint with the Nets. His first couple of seasons went pretty well (playoffs). I like the idea of this hire because he has been in the college ranks, he's obviously a good coach, and his reputation and allure will give UT lots of attention with the best recruits.

NO THANK YOU, NO WAY IN HELL!! I'll significantly reduce my donation if 1) Frank is hired, (shouldn't even be considered), 2) Hamilton retained.

Someone posted crap like this yesterday without any explanantion. If you going to throw accusations out there like that, just kindly expLain why. Makes you look like an idiot if you don't.

It should be obvious by now why Frank is not good fit- he's an NBA coach, not a collge coach. We don't need Kiff.2 either!

Love to see an attempted reason for this thought.
