Also, what's wrong with a coach focusing on defensive intensity and creating turnovers when he only has one proven scorer? I don't know if you watched Tennessee play this year, but putting bad shooters in a good position to miss shots doesn't really work.

Pitino (especially pre waitress abortion) and Calipari are in another UNIVERSE from Lawrence Frank in recruiting prowess, winning the press conference and being a cultural chameleon. Both of those guys at one point were attractive.

You guys may enjoy getting wasted with Frank, but he would be a big time failure as head basketball coach at UT. It would be a delight to show you how wrong you are, but I could not stand to watch the program that I love suffer as he failed to bring in good players and converted the ones we still had to a snorefest like he had with O'Neill.

The only thing MHF is that Frank did not control the players he had to coach. i really don't think you can hold that teams performance against the coach. As we all know the Nets organization was horrible and probably still is even with billionaire owners trying to straighten it out.
The real issue is can he recruit? I don't have any idea if he can or can't. But I can't criticize his coaching acumen

It doesn't matter who the coach is next year. They'll succeed because they have the dominant Jeronne Maymon at their disposal.

Not to defend MHF, he does that well enough a lot on his own,, but why Frank,, does he have NBA contacts - obviously, does he know how to coach - yes.

BUT - does he have a personality like Kevin O Neill? Does he recruit like Kevin O Neill?

If the answer is yes, then why do O Neill part Dos?
If he is better and can recruit, then he would be an ideal coach for us.

The only thing that will keep Tennessee from getting a quality coach is the universal fear in the coaching community of that juggernaut Horn is building in Columbia.

CBS sports is saying he will want 3.5 million. That is double the Dooley's salary so I don't think this is happening. whether he can recruit or not.

Seriously, though, I still say we need to pay market value for both sports and not use the sport they are coaching to designate who should make more.
